Smart Wi-Fi Camera Recommendations

Hi all,

I have a bunch of 3D printers I'd like to keep an eye on while in another room/out of the house. Does anyone know of cheap wifi/smart cameras that I can get locally? I could get from banggood but who knows when that would arrive. The best I can see are $40 connect/orion smart indoor cameras from Harvey norman/bunnings

Pretty sure you could just run cheap cameras off a raspberry pi running Octoprint

Yeah, it's the plan for later. I have one pi running octoprint though I haven't been using it recently.

If you have an old android phone you can run the app ipwebcam

    • I'll look into it. Most people should have a few lying around

      • It's what I use. Works decently well. You can set them up in Octoprint as well.

Ring Camera is pretty easy to use
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Ring-Indoor-Cam/dp/B07Q623C39/ref=…

Only downsides are : Pay for cloud storage
and probably not the cheapest option but def one of the easiest overall
and the inevitable you are being spied on comments (even though this has not been the case for some time and never really was )

Also note to self… (per above comment) should check links before posting them… seems i posted an affiliate link LOL

They are great, though as you said, not the cheapest.

Another brand to check out is TP-Link. Good support and apps from what I've used so far

      2 cams for $39 + post

      • thank you for this link. this looks like quite the steal
