  • I am just curious. With the exception of the elderlies and those with respiratory conditions, I find it a bit hard to comprehend why anyone would require cleaner air living in Australia? Bush fires that cause poor air quality is totally understandable. Burning trees and bushes don’t smell pleasant. Still, can’t fathom spending a few hundred dollars buying an air purifier just to be ready for the next catastrophe? Or am I missing something altogether?

    • Better saving your money if you don’t need it mate. Some people rave about them.

    • probably similar to buying a Toyota or buying a Ferrari (maybe slightly different magnitude) imo:

sure the air here is good, but it could still be improved, so why not buy a purifier if you can to breath in even if it's just marginally better air

also here's the air quality index for comparison

      • I'm not so sure about that.

I have an air purifier, and while it does a great job if the air becomes dirty, I can also just run a fan and open the window, or just wait.

The only time that wouldn't work is when there are bushfires.

I don't regret my purchase but at least according to the indicator on the device, its generally don't really doing anything measurable.

        • Fair enough, now I'm back on the fence whether to get one

    • I hear these are great for filtering dust from the air.

So just like most products I end up buying due to OzBargain.

Just sits in the corner of my room and collects dust.

        • Haha good one
