    • seriously!! This is not the first time with Harvey!! They have no uniformity…..

What did they say? Did they say either Solo with $500 phone credit or $700 phone credit with no Solo?

TBH, unless you are really bean counting, you are better off wait for Click Frenzy and see what else is on offer. Cutting down monthly payment is way better than paying higher monthly fee and compensate with items and gift card that you do really need. Of course it does work well if you are actually in the market for an iphone.

      • $700 credit with the 65p/month offer which is plastered all around the mobile phones section. Guy I spoke to went and asked somebody else behind counter, and they almost laughed at the suggestion anyone was able to get that sort of deal.
I don't really care about iPhone. But I can live with it "IF' they did do the Free beats headphones… so not desperate at all really.
It just happens to coincide with a job promotion which allows for a $65.00 monthly phone bill reimbursement, of course I have to hand over the monthly bill to my employer.

        • So the exercise is to claim you bill while getting a good bonus out of it while you are at it right?

There is this deal or you wait for JB / GG to give $700 credit and go on their Telstra BYO.

Bear in mind they are 24 months plan. If I was in your position I will actually take the 1 year $65 deal and take $400 credit / GC. Use that against something like the Reno 5G deal. You pay $199 for a SD855 with OLED after the credit, not bad…. The beauty is you can recontact again in just 12 months and hunt for another deal.

    • Thats frustrating, it is definitely able to be done, and is in the "launch email" sent to all franchisees.

      • Brother (or Sister)… It is not surprise coming from HN's franchisees. Many are very greedy and cunning.

Many years there was two HN in Chastwood. I was shopping for a camera. The big one in Chastwood Chase want my business. I advise them a special was running for the same model in the small Victoria Ave store. After long discussion they were reluctantly match the price then solidly denied when I say I want to pay with GE interested free. The guys said there is no way the Victoria Ave store will do that for me with that price…

Guess what the guy did the deal for me with GE interest free in the Victoria Ave branch and throw in a free CF card (yeah that was LONG time ago).

        • That sucks mate, we try to match where possible via same payment. Usually goes close to cost. THen if we add it on GE they charge us a pretty big % of the sale in their fees.

Good news is, if they actually read the email, is the beats and gift card is fully funded by Optus on this so a win win for everyone.

          • @farque: I wouldn't be surprise some Harvey owner / manager will instruct floor staff to allow just one but claim both from Optus. I am not saying you or your branch will do it, but some will.

So Optus get your guys to sell a $1560 contract and fund the $700 crecdit / GC and a $200 head phone? Lets say the two bonus together cost Optus 50% of the actual value (say $450). That is using almost 30% if the revenue of a plan to sell a plan, remarkable!!

            • @syswong: They're pretty strict with reporting, if they arent both on the invoice, they dont pay anything at all. so would lose approx $900 in funding for the whole thing…

Yeah its the best offer since the $100 Eftpos $59 plan iphone 8gb from a couple a years ago that I've seen… the good ol days.

Optus use HN more for customer acquisition, like Telstra use JB so usually run pretty tight margins for themselves i would imagine.
