Bose Repairs (Headphones)

Hey guys,

I currently own a pair of Bose QC15. I've kept them in good condition and just replaced the earpads a few months ago so they look pretty brand new at the moment which is why I'm even considering it.

But yesterday they suddenly turned off and won't turn back on again.

I did notice there was a little corrosion in the battery compartment which I cleaned out as much as I could but I'm not too crash hot on these things.

Does anyone know any placed in Sydney that would be able to repair them?

Went through the Bose website and they offered me a pair of QC25 for $190 (it's a model they don't even offer for sale on the website anymore) but if I was to upgrade I would prefer to go QC35 and go wireless.

Anyone?

Thank you!

  • Not worth the cost of the repair, better off putting that money towards the qc35.

  • Is it water damage? Or just the battery dead?
Could fix it yourself for cheap if you can buy the battery online.

If its water damage, I think a funeral is in order. Save up for the Sony XM3, XM4, QC35-2, or Bose 700.

    • I don't think its water damage. They usually just sit on my shelf in my work room. It uses AAA batteries so I've already tried replacing it. I tried opening it up because I didn't really have much else to lose but couldn't figure out how to get to the battery compartment.

I've tried to repair some of mine with a local headphone "repairer". Didn't work.

Bose don't have official repairers for headphones.
In warranty they just swap it over for a new pair (like for like so if you have QC15s they replace them with QC15s).
Outside of warranty they swap it for a new pair at a reduced price (which you already saw for your model)

If it's an old item that they no longer have the replacements for, they may offer a reduced price on an upgraded model.

Because of this they don't have any recommended repairers for headphones, so you would have to go with a third party repairer (google headphone repairs), but know there may be parts that Bose don't supply so you go with third party parts too)

  • Ask for the price of qc35.

  • Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to give them a call on Monday and ask what they can do for me for a pair of QC35's instead. Sad to part with such comfortable and light headphones.

Either that or wait for a sale. Def not paying full price. It's already expensive at discount price lol.

  • I had this same situation with the QC15s during the Christmas period. I asked Bose in the first email if there was an option to upgrade to the QC35s and they came back with an offer for the QC25s with a 30% discount off the $189 price coming down to $132.30. I took them up on the offer and bought a bluetooth adapter for $40 off Ali.

This was their wording to me in the email:

But setting your expectations we are only allowed to process like to like replacement but as a courtesy we can only update your product from QC15 to QC25 with the amount of $189.00. But I'm happy to give you another 30% discount on top of the discounted amount of $189.00. You will only need to pay $132.30 for QC25 brand new headphones with 1 year warranty.

    • THAT, is a pretty sweet deal! Thanks for sharing I’ll see if they offer me something similar. Would you happen to still have the email address? I can’t find one anywhere and their chat hasn’t been up :/

      • I think I used their Contact Us page to send them a message/email though the site but I'm not sure how I did that looking at it now.

The email it was sent to was [email protected] with the subject 'Contact Us - Headphones'

      • Did you end up getting a reply from them?

        • I ended up calling them, and they just offered me the QC25 at $189 only. Just trying to decide if I want to take the offer or just wait for the wireless pair to drop down to the $300 mark and get that instead.
