Not the cheapest on Catch from PriceHipster but still a good offer on this unit. I was looking for a new toaster and this fits the bill. Good price, quality brand and the reviews look good.

$199 @ KitchenAid

    Don't pay $268.95

    OK, I won't.

  • This would be so worth it if it could draw shapes on your toast :P

    • +2

I agree. I was about to buy it but it lacks the shape drawing feature so I'm out.

… If you're paying this much for a toaster, you're doing it wrong!

This isn’t the same model, but kitchenaid do not have a good rep when it comes to actually making toast. https://www.choice.com.au/shonky-awards/hall-of-shame/shonky…

    • Excellent post, thanks for sharing. I expanded on Choice's review below, as I just recently bought one (after reading the Choice review).
      You're 100% right about their toasters :).

  • Whats so good about these toasters eBay command the high price?

  • +1

I would not be buying a kitchen aid toaster. Just bought a kitchen aid mixer though.

    • So you can make toast with the mixer?
      Amazing!

      • Yes, just put the bread in the mixer, and the mixer in the oven @180c for 5 mins.

        • +1

thank you, wife got the mixer for mother's day. I will suprise her with your suggestion.

  • $99.99 at Costco(membership required) if you like with digital screen $99.99 also but on pistachio colour.

  • Careful, I researched toasters last year, Kitchen Aid make some of the worse. They break after a few months.

    For anyone curious, Choice reckons:

    Best Two Slice Toasters
    1st - KitchenAid Pro Line Artisan 5KMT2204ACA0 - $329 (for a toaster… that does 2 slices!!)
    2nd - Kambrook The Smarter Choice KTA120WHT $29 (that's better!)
    3rd - KitchenAid 2 Slice Toaster 5AKMT223OB $239

    Best Four Slice Toasters
    1st - KitchenAid 5AKMT423OB $289
2nd - Breville The Bit More Plus 4 Slice Long Slot BTA440BSS $90 (looks like 1980's toaster, but works very well. $76 delivered from Amazon… the one I bought recently)
    3rd - Sunbeam Gallerie 4 Slice Toaster TA2640 $119

It should be noted out of all the toasters tested (33 of them), the worst was a KitchenAid 2-Slice Toaster KMT2116AER $189 (by a very long shot… got 20%, and the 2nd worst was a $70 Kambrook that got 52%), so KitchenAid is hit and miss. Kah linked to it above… a true failure in toasting technology :).

    You're welcome ;).
