Im not really sure myself what VoLTE is, and if I need it.
I'm looking to buy a Redmi Note 9s from Kogan.
I am currently on Telstra network.
Do I even need VoLTE? and if yes, will this have it?

Does VoLTE give HD Quality in voice calls if it is an International Number, i.e. both have VoLTE but one is in Australia and the other abroad.
It's basically having a phone call while using mobile data, but the carrier doesn't count that data as regular internet usage.
Would be happy to be corrected, but I think regular standard calls use radio waves(???) or analog signals(???) to send voice to another phone, that's why it still hasn't improved since the 90s while VoLTE is pure digital (like Skype, Zoom, Discord etc.) and is only limited by data transfer.
It allows to have very high quality voice call with another person who also has a VoLTE capable phone and carrier.
Not sure if the phone has it, but to make use of VoLTE, you need that both your and the other person's phones support VoLTE and both of your carriers support VoLTE.
IMO too many variables at the moment, so doesn't seem practically usable in Australia.
