Interstate Travel for Job Purpose (Vic - NSW - QLD)

LSS - want to travel from Melbourne to Brisbane on for starting a new role (currently unemployed) from next week. With the present situation I just want to know if there are any one who recently travelled in and out from QLD. Checking online was told I need to be in quarantine for 14 days after reaching QLD.

More details

1) I'm Victorian Resident
2) Planning to drive on my own car (Vic registered)
3) Going for a contract role (daily wage, can WFH but not sure if I can get the laptop on the day of arrival)
4) Was planning to move out of Victoria for better weather.
6) Got the travel pass

(7). An exempt resident who arrives in Queensland must self-quarantine if:
    b. they are a person mentioned in paragraph 10 item 1(b) (a person moving to Queensland to make Queensland their principal place of residence).

So yeah, you'll have to self-quarantine for 14 days when you arrive.

  • Assuming you have accommodation to move into, just get the laptop couriered to there. You can WFH during your quarantine.

BTW, point 4 of your post is irrelevant, though sure to create jealousy amongst those still here in Vic.

      Point 5 even more so.

  • If you can work from home, why don't you start here and move later?

    • I think i might have to authenticate login from premises for the first time. since its first time, not sure how it works. It's a financial institution.
