Bestway Hydroforce Ventura Kayak $279.99 Delivered @ Costco (Membership Required)

120

A great and versatile inflatable kayak at what I believe to be the lowest price on the market.

Available on Costco online, and the price includes delivery.

I called up a few stores, and they are apparently not available in-store as now is the low season for kayak and outdoors gear. Kayaking and fishing are acceptable activities to do during lockdown.

Although it is an inflatable, it does perform really well.

Enjoy!

  • Anyone know any good/easy/safe kayaking spots around Sydney?

From Rodd Park in Rodd Point to Cockatoo Island and back.

      • Being a complete n00b, I'm worried about tides and getting run over by ferries.

Iron Cove is very safe. There are three rowing clubs just in that area where people train professionally or do recreational paddling.

      • How long does that take you?

        • Depending on speed and wind - a couple of hours. May take less or more if stop over at the island.

Go to rose bay, or out to the national parks. Lots of good places. Areas around Audley Boathouse at Royal National Park is good, though not on that stretch of river where the boathouse is.

  • Looks good, I've got the intex 2 person inflatable ($150), which is great. This looks like a step up with much better seats.

Setup for a 2 person inflatable takes less than 10 minutes. Less than 5 minutes to inflate.

I just purchssed one a week ago and it arrived today. Plan to take it out tomorrow. If you have any questions reply to this message and I'll reply if i can help :)

I inflated it in the living room. Took maybe 7 minutes. 3 compartments to fill up.
    Took 2 minutes to deflate.

    • Hi, thanks for offering your review. Is the nylon like a rip-stop material? Would you say it is pretty heavy duty? Is the back of the seats fairly solid?
      Sorry for all the questions.

      • Yeah it seems pretty decent. I wouldn't run it over sharp rocks but i reckon the occasional one should be fine. The base is certainly thicker. The seats strap on to a Velcro like base. You then secure the seats with straps and they keep the seays upright. I wouldn't lean back into it too much but we shall find out tomorrow.

The paddles are average. I suspect if we keep it, then getting some decent paddles might be required.

I spoke to the costco people and they said I can try the kayak and if i don't like it, I can return it. So figured why not. Gets decent reviews online.

Still happy overall. If we didn't live in an apartment then I would get a real kayak for sure.

        • Hey thanks for that. Have fun tomorrow

    • Hi mate. How much was it for if you don't mind. I'm really interested but I have to do some explaining to my partner as to why this is a great deal.

  • OOS. :(

    • If you have never had an inflatable kayak before, Intex Challenger is also very good and almost half this price. This is definitely a step up, but the Intex also represents great value.

      • I'll look into it. Thank you! Do you know of good three seater?

  • Was about to buy an inflatable kayak and had been considering this one Decathlon anyone have any idea if the decathlon one is really all that much better then the hydroforce considering the big price difference?

    They look so similar.

    • That's a 3 person kayak and it comes with its own bag as opposed to the one from this post. Hopefully that goes on a discounted price in the future.

      • Ah sorry but even their 2 person one Decathlon 2 person is a decent amount more then the hydro-force and it does not include paddles or pump or shipping.

There is not all that much information about the differences between the 2 brands which makes it hard when the photos look so similar :(

        • Yeah I've been looking for reviews on it too. But hey come tax return maybe decathlon will do a sale. Being a sports store I'd say they have better goods. And to add to it, costco is out of stock so that's a decision made for us. :/
