Received a Random Product from China I Didn't Order

Hi all

I received a random item (junk plastic bracelet thing) from a Chinese seller, addressed to me with my correct full name, address, and mobile number.

I don't know why I've received it and was wondering if anyone else had had a similar experience?

What's more concerning is that I usually don't use my full name, just a shortened version, or my mobile number when I'm ordering online.

I'm wondering if it's an account of mine that's being used for 'brushing' or something similar. Am mildly worried about data safety.

Cheers

I did this to my brother a while back. Sent a few bits of cheap aliexpress stuff that were kinda useful but mostly bizarre (eg beard styling tool, bicycle shorts with padded ass)

Caught up with him a few months later and blew it by commenting on his new bumper sticker.
Shame, he'd been questioning his sanity, and I could have sent so much more crap

you have a secret admirer or a stalker

Probably brushing, it's been going on for years.

Your data should be safe as all the sender usually has is information readily available from a search on the net.

It may be a missed drug shipment.

    1. Break it open and check for drugs.
    2. If there are drugs - try them to test quality.
    3. …..
    4. Profit!

Maybe it was the 5G ;)

It said they got a bracelet not Covid, autism or some other random bullshit

        • I never said they got covid or autism or any other random bullshit. If you feel the need to attack other people's comments at least be factual.

A bracelet you say? Probably a listening device straight back to the CCP

    I hope you sanitised it.

  • What is brushing?

      • Thanks, had never heard of this before. Interesting concept.

They are probably sending coronavirus in the post now that travelling is banned.

  • Yep got something like that as well - mine was a peeler. Definitely didn't order.

  • Looks like a lot of people are receiving a dodgy shipment instead of an actual ordered item - many people reporting receiving this exact item I received in place of something else. I can't think of anything I've ordered that I'm waiting on, however…
