Tefal Frypan differences?

I'm wanting to know if anyone knows the difference between the many Tefal non-stick frypan models?

There are differences in pricing, but why?

I need a 30cm non-stick frypan.

Any info most appreciated :)

Cheers

  • There are three tefal grades of non-stick:
    Tefal Titanium Force (Cheapest)
Tefal Titanium Pro (Coating lasts x2 as long)
Tefal Titanium Excellence (Coating lasts x3 as long)

There’s also the handle to consider. Some of them have plastic handles which are only suitable in the oven/grill under low temperatures. Others have the metal handle so can withstand much higher temperatures in the oven, for example to panfry something then finish it off in a hotter oven.

Whilst true, Puting my Tefal in the oven ruined it. I only put cast iron in the oven these days.

  • Ok. Thank you..this info helps :)

Im making an assumption here but I also think that the base of the cheaper pans will be thinner. Which leads to inefficient cooking, as the pan wont heat up evenly. Thicker pans retain more heat and the heat is distributed evenly.

  • Unfortunately they make it sometimes difficult to get which grade a frying pan is using.

For instance I recently bought an hard titanium +.
I think I read somewhere it was equivalent to a titanium excellence but why not make it obvious in the description of each products?!!

Same looking at the Jimmy Oliver set, I have no idea which coating it's using… Really annoying.

  • Yep. I ended up buying a heritage pan. It seems to be ok :)
