I got a new iPhone and transferred everything from iclouds to my new phone except the WhatsApp chats,which includes photos which I’m trying to retrieve (photos not automatically saved to gallery)
When the new iPhone asked if I wanted to retrieve data I clicked yes but wouldn’t allow me to download the context (pictures) from watts app chat
There’s so many memories that I don’t want to Loose off my old iPhone
How do I get my photos from WhatsApp chat and transfer it to my new phone

I can stil log into my old phone which still has the pictures from wats app but eventually I’ll have to reset the whole phone

Did you backup whatsapp photos (and videos) on the old phone to your icloud first?
No I didn’t back them up first
Then that's probably why. Do a manual back up on the old phone, ensuring that photos (and videos) are selected. Then a restore on your new phone.

@Layla11: If possible, don't wipe the old phone until you're sure you've got everything you need…you might not realise for a few weeks/months…
@John Kimble: Thankyou I’ll give this a try tomorro as I’m locked out of my phone wats app phone for 6hrs as I was signing in and out to many times back and fourth with it all

On your new phone install Google Photos and sync all image to Photos automatically. If you have an iPhone 11 Pro/Max you get unlimited storage on Google Photos. Next time you switch phone it's as easy as installing Google Photos on your new phone.
This isn't going to solve your current Whatsapp situation but you definitely won't face this dilemma in future.
What was your old phone?
Did you try to backup and restore your chat data?
Before transferring, have you made sure that the images are JPG?
