Centr Trial Scam - taking money without warning despite cancellation

I have been the victim of Chris Hemsworth’s Centr 6 week free trial. While I did cancel prior to my trial ending, I was still charged for the privilege. While I did get charged, I did not receive any warning prior that the funds would be withdrawn and I also did not receive a receipt either.

As per the above news articles, I am not alone. If you took up the deal for the 6 week Centr free trial, do check your bank statements, you may have been charged too.

What a scam! I guess some saw it coming with some comments in the original deal warning about providing credit card details for a free trial.

Most apps with a free trial ask for credit card info, that's nothing new (netflix, disney, spotify etc). I did the free trial for Centr a while ago, cancelled in the trial and didn't get charged. It's likely a bug/error so just ask for a refund, if no response do a chargeback.

  • Sounds like a bug, annoying though. I cancelled my trial after a week (didn't log in once, too busy with work!)

Nothing has come out yet but will keep an eye on account. I'm sure Thor doesn't need to run a scam to make money, sounds more like a PR blip from a script that ran a day prematurely.
