You're thinking it's Calvin Klein. Yes, it is, but…
It has a 10s/year F07.401 Precidrive movement as stated in Ashford's ad, https://www.ashford.com/us/watches/calvin-klein/K2G2G14L.pid. I found out about the watch from https://forums.watchuseek.com/f9/%2A%2A%2Awhat-haq-watch-you…. PM'd dumpweed to check the colour is green as per Amazon ad as the Ashford ad states green but looks different. dumpweed confirmed it's the same one and sometimes it looks greyish. Google precidrive watches to see how expensive watches with precidrive movements are.Just been informed by dumpweed that wbird gave him the idea, https://forums.watchuseek.com/f9/just-i-assume-fits-haq-crit…. No date, F07.401, with date being F07.411.

    Looks ordinary…

  • Most quartz watches are specc'd to be accurate to within 20s/month. Most autos are 20s/day, unless it's COSC (e.g. Rolex) and then it is -4 to +6 a day. 10s a year for that price is good, plus it has a 5-year battery. Yep, looks boring, and the colour may not be to your liking, but 10s a year is not to be sneezed at.:)

its hard to get excited about any ordinary (non-solar) quartz watch but a swiss made one with such a high quality quartz movement for under $100 is not something to be sneezed at. would probably have grabbed one myself if it had a date complication…

That thing is ugly. No doubt the photo is below average. It might look better on leather.

  • I think (stress) the models beginning with k2g2g are the HAQ ones. If you see a model you like ask the dealer.

  • beauty is in the eye of the beholder …i warming to the colour

  • Calvin Klein watches is a part of the Swatch group.

They make some very good pieces on certain models, high beat auto, sapphire glass and Swiss and the price is good.

The problem is the brand and they are all pretty ordinary looking, not ugly, just very bland watches.

Spec wise they beat the hell out of Seiko… for around $300 you can get a watch that has the better specs than a Tissot for less than a Seiko, and its Swiss.

Also Swatch take parts from other Swatch group companies… ie. Precidrive is a Certina thing.

    • I think Swatch is/has dropped CK from their brands too.

      • They probably have… ie. they declined to "renew their license"

but the problem is they have warehouses full of stock they still own and would still like to liquidate.

Ah bugger it, i ordered one. 5.3% cashback on Shopback makes it just over $65 after all's said and done (with Prime), have paid more than that for basic Swatch Ironys in the past. I reckon this will look nice with a plain black leather strap.

  • Next best deal seems to be https://www.amazon.com.au/Calvin-Klein-Quartz-Black-K2G2G14C…. No minute markers 1-4 so to set the time you have to wait until it's a multiple of five.

  • The 30m water resistance kills it for me. Otherwise it could be a decent everyday watch.

    • +2

Same here. I'm usually diving to approx 50 metres most days. This won't do.

      • Diving? 3BAR water resistant means you shouldn't hold it under a running tap. For actual diving you need at least 20BAR.

  • Interesting watch, thanks for posting. Oversized and fugly to my eyes and not something I'd want on my wrist, but an interesting watch because of the movement.

Sounds like you're describing every Seiko watch that gets posted here

  • Any thoughts on this 1? pretty much same price, same movement, has date but no minute markers on face, much nicer colour also IMO..

    • Confirmed as precidrive by a few Euro sites, e.g., https://www.gioiapura.it/en/watch-only-time-man-calvin-klein…. Looks nice, but my problem is no minute markers. If you have a HAQ it behoves one to set the exact time to the second - with no minute markers you have to wait until it hits a multiple of five. Even then, if you're obsessive, you may notice the minute hand isn't exactly on the marker the next time it hits a minute marker 5mins later, so you then wait to set the watch again, and then wait again to ensure it's right, and so on. If it has minute markers you are waiting a minute for each action instead of 5mins.:)

  • Does anyone have any updates on the order ?
I couldn't find this on my order lost so looked through the cancelled order only to find out the order is cancelled.

  • I got mine but sent it back because it was too heavy, plus I have too many watches.

    • So you bought it and sent back because you have too many watches (and did the watch being heavy played a big part in returning)?

      • Is there a charge for the psycho-analysis?
