Gaming Monitor Recommendations Pls 32-35 Inch

Hi. Looking for some recommendations.

Running a Radeon R9 380 card and i5 setup. Have a 27” asus which does 1080p fine, but I’m looking to get a curved monitor. And upgrade in future to newer setup - current is about 4 years old.

So I want the monitor to be able to accomodate a future upgrade path..

Playing stuff like Division 2 and Hitman now.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi, what is your budget though?

    • Up to $1000 but prefer to spend half of that only. doesn’t have to be top of the range,, so what I am looking for is value..

  • Like is this any good? Samsung LC34H892WGEXXY ?

    • yeah, dont think your current gpu can support 60fps for that monitor though, with AAA tittle games, keep that in mind.

      • So it’s a good gaming monitor? If I upgraded system to say a gtx2070 would it keep up?

        • yeah i think believe a 2070 super can support games for that resolution.

        • Are you planning on doing anything else with it? Work? Movies? A VA panel is pretty annoying with the colour shift especially at that size.

          • @Satirical: @satirical no.. do some work on it, gaming.. that’s about it.. watch movies on a 75” 4K Samsung… so the upgrade from my current asus 27 in panel is purely for gaming..

Is that Galax 2070 card any good that has just come on OZB?

It's pointless getting a gaming monitor if you don't have the hardware to take advantage of it's features as it won't make a difference. I know you're trying to future proof things, but you're doing it backwards unless you already know what exactly you are going to upgrade your PC to.

You should at the very least upgrade your GPU first.

    • 100% this. Also upgrade CPU though if it was bought with the GPU ~5 years ago as will be main bottleneck. Which means new mobo and also at least 16GB RAM.

If OP doesn't want to do any of that then a cheap $300 VX3276-2k will do.

      • Running currently 6th gen i5, 16 BG ram, h170 asus gaming mb.. to change to newer cpu will likely need new mb and ram as u say.. I think what I am looking for is a 30+in curved screen that will go to at least 2k reso… any other suggestions? The one u suggested is flat, and max 1080p?

That's a 2k res monitor. You won't be able to run 1080p high settings for modern games, let alone 2k. Curved ultrawide monitors are overrated (unless you want to get 2 side by side) and rarely IPS. I would suggest you have bigger upgrade priorities.

        • Your bottleneck is your GPU, upgrading anything else would have diminishing returns. It would struggle to do any decent monitor justice
