Outdoor Fairy Lights

I'm looking for some Outdoor lights for the backyard fence, but I have some quite specific criteria. To be honest I'm more concerned about these than the price, and I'm looking for recco's from people who personally bought and used the lights they're recommending.

  • A string of approx. 50 meters length
  • Warm-white preferred, cool-white OK
  • Plug-In (Not solar)
  • Will survive in Melbourne weather conditions for at least a couple of years

And here's the big one:
* If they have multiple functions (Steady-On, Flashing, Waves, Pulse, etc) then the FIRST function must be Steady-On

The reason for this is because I want to put them on a Timer/Smart Switch, so they have to go Steady-On as soon as they're powered up, and stay that way.
I know there are a million plug-in Outdoor fairy light products online but it's virtually impossible to tell from the description what 'function' they default to.

Please Halp!

Logically you would think "steady on" would be the first mode. Have you found otherwise?

Eg with torches you don't get "flashing/SOS" on first push of the button (I know some may have separate SOS buttons).

    • I have several strings of lights, and yes it's strange but it seems like they ALL have 'Combination' as the first setting, i.e. cycle though every function the unit is capable of.
Presumably they are designed this way because that's how they'll be set up in a shop (the store clerks aren't going to press the button to any specific setting every morning) and they want customers to see everty function the lights are capable of.

I was curious as also interested, first listing I pulled up makes specific note about remembering the desired setting
