About Proud Mary Coffee

Proud Mary Coffee is dedicated to producing exceptional coffee.

We take great pride in supporting and representing coffee producers and communities. We visit our producers each year, venture to their farms, homes and families. This is a relationship. We discover who they are, what motivates them and how we can support one another. Through this tangible form, we generate a mutual understanding and appreciation. These are the true rock stars of coffee, the story starts with the producer.

Our vision ensures that our direct involvement both financially supports and rewards the quality of coffee. The effect is twofold. This fosters improvements through farms reinvestment and infrastructure into equipment and facilities. Furthermore, this enhances the quality each harvest, contributing to the potential of higher coffee production. Purchasing both small(micro/nano lots) and large scale lots facilitates growth in higher production for producers and their supporting communities and networks.

Pretty happy with the last deal similar to this at the beginning of the month. Good coffee, ordered 3 May with roast date of 29 April.

Messed up my email address on the order and sent through an email to get it updated. Tim got it sorted very quickly, on a Sunday afternoon as well.

Thank you :) Really appreciate these kind words. I love talking and sharing coffee - but this makes it all the more worthwhile!

    Hi Tim,

Any chance we can order some espresso / filter Single Origins on the side from Proud Mary? Wouldn't mind beefing up my order if I'm going to be paying for shipping anyway.

    Cheers for the great deal.

    • Sure thing! Just jump on live chat and I'll give you a rundown of what we have :)

Awesome. I’ll jump on in a few hours if that’s okay when I have a break. Cheers. I’ll also pm you my email address if that’s easier.

Generally, what will roast dates be?
Any of the available beans ok for Aeropress?

    Thanks!

    • Hey there,

Roast date will likely be 26/05 or 27/05, however some will be roasted today (25/05). Just depends how many orders Proud Mary get :)

Personally, I'd lean towards the Ghost Rider or Angel Wings for Aeropress. But it's such a personal thing! What do you normally use with your Aeropress?

      • excellent thanks! Can you do a deal on any of the Proud Mary filter beans? i usually use coffee beans roasted for filter.

Can anyone comment on how the Humbler Blend compares to one of the others that get posted here e.g. Five Senses Crompton Road?

    • Hey there, I haven't tried Crompton Road in a while.

      A couple of points:
      - Proud Mary as a rule don't roast as dark as Five Senses
      - Knowing what the blend components are can be a good start.

Op would any of the coffee listed in this post be similar to Dark Horse?

        • +1

In terms of a darker, full bodied blend then Humbler would be the way to go. They've also got that big Brazilian base which gives it the 'punch' that a lot of folks love.

@Realdee: I’ve been hooked on to the DH for a while and it really has set the bar high. Will give the Humbler a try. Cheers.

            • @whypaymo: Let me know what you think 👌

Cheers. I think I’ll give it a go for a change :) no idea what blend components offer what, I just go by the descriptions and know I like coffees that have hints of chocolate/caramel etc.

My regular is Hitman by ONA. For something darker, I like a local bean Black Mountain by Seven Miles

        • Gotcha! Sounds like Humbler is the way to go :)

Do you buy Hitman via the ONA website?

          • @Realdee: I haven’t tried ordering from their website, I’ve never come across it discounted on there lol. There’s a few local cafes here in the ACT that sell it slightly cheaper than the website

            • @johnnytran: Very true! I can't see that happening haha

Ordered a ghostrider and humbler, great timing and solid discount, I missed the dark horse and c road deal, these might be better hopefully, will be interesting to compare them. Using a delonghi 650

    • Thanks! Let me know what you think :)

  • Hey Timdee, in the deal details, you list the Ghost Rider as award winning (won the top award at the 2013 Golden Bean Coffee Roasters Competition), but on your website you list Angel Wings as award winning instead of the Ghost Rider - might want to fix that up to avoid confusion (unless they both won awards?).

  • Very happy with the humbler.
Arrived very fresh and a little closed. 6 days after roast it came alive and is a cracking brew. Creama is a little poor but the flavour profile is the bomb.
    Good stuff direct coffee!
