Awesome blenders and at a very good price. Owner of an older model here, I use mine twice a day minimum. None of the other mainstream brands come close. Looking at you Ninja.

    • I had a nutri ninja that died after 2 years.

How does this come to longevity? I'm willing to invest if it lasts through the ages.

      • +1

Mine is 12 years old, though I've only owned it for 1 of those years. The previous owner gave me a demo before I bought it, she clearly worked it pretty hard, as I now do too.

        if that answers your question.

        • Wow 12 years and still running!!! Worth the $400 then

          • @sleet: You know the saying, buy quality and you only cry once.

    • Yeah its awesome, had mine for years, used it everyday and still going strong.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered

    • +5

How do you eat your activated almonds!?

    • +11

If you use a blender everyday, you will notice a MASSIVE difference in quality depending on the price point of a blender. A sub $100 blender will not live up to daily use nor will it be capable of frappes etc. Also, I don’t know about this model but if it’s anything like the commercial Vitamix blenders - we had these in our McCafe restaurant prior to the automated machines and they stood up to years of torture and our customers (as did I) love the end result.

      • -3

The capacity to make a frappe is available in just about any blender you may choose to buy. As for standing up to daily use I suppose that's better accounted for by the user and ingredients you're working with. This may be a good product/brand, but that's an inflated RRP and not a bargain.

        • have you ever made a frappe

    • +4

I bet you never used Vitamix before

  • This model is not listed as current model on their website

But is listed under support https://www.vitamix.com/au/en_gb/Shop/Vitamix-Aspire

    • “ Exclusive to Costco.”
      Hmmmm.

      • +2

Costco sells e320 now so DJ Aspire might be rebranded e310.

  • +1

Big Vitamix fan here. Bought one at Costco 5+ years ago. At this price you’re crazy to buy anything else! Use mine daily and it just keeps on keeping on!

  • it it easy to clean? I have nutribullet and notice crevices near the blade the cap where you have to take out rubber seal to clean otherwise it's disgusting.

    • +1

Have an E310 and find it super easy to clean. Half fill with water, couple of drops detergent and run it on high for a min. No lingering gunk hiding that I’ve seen so far.

    • +1

Simple to clean. I always wash it out immediately after use and usually just rinse it under the tap, if it warrants it, I'll put a little detergent in and turn it on. But if you get onto it quick it'll be the easiest thing you've ever cleaned.

I have an older model but I don't think the cleaning aspect has changed.

    • +2

If you go for the Ascent range they're dishwasher safe. Otherwise, just a drop of detergent and blend on high for 30 seconds.

      • +1

        just a drop of detergent

This cannot be stressed enough. If you have ever been careless when using this cleaning method and squirted in too much detergent, you will know why "just one drop" of detergent is the recommended amount.

  • +1

there are other models of the VITAMIX on sale at DJ'S aswell

  • +11

Vitamix is one of the few true BIFL appliances left nowdays.
They're designed to be easily repaired, and the part that is most likely to fail only costs a few dollars to replace.

Planned obsolescence is a cancer on society
A company like Vitamix does more for the environment than Greenpeace, shame there's not more of them.

    • +3

100% this. People always ask my why I wouldn’t just get a new blender every year at this price, but the point is these things are made to solidly and will last you well beyond the 5/7/10 year warranty.

    • +1

      So true!

Mines 12 years old (now outside its 10yr warranty) and goes like new.

    • +1

True, Vitamix and KitchenAid, things will last over over a decade.

  • Vitamix Aspire vs E310, similar price in David Jones.
    Which one is better?

    • +1

Aren’t they the same, just renamed?

      • No. Aspire is for Costco only. E310 is official low-end model.

        • What's the difference. Can't be cosco only..

        • +1

They both have exactly the same specs and all “real” Aspire models come with 10 years warranty while e310 & e320 come with 5 years only, same as this Aspire model. Costco is now selling e320 - perhaps evidence that this Aspire / Costco Aspire and e310/320 are the same. If they are different, can you explain what the differences are as there is nothing on the web.

  • Will it Blend? Thunder snaps?

  • What do people use this for?
I cannot think of one use for it, though the discount is interesting.

    • Do a search on YouTube. There is a whole cult following for Vitamix. Endless ideas on how to use it.

But personally I mostly make smoothies. Occasional nicecreams and sometimes soups (it can make piping hot soup thanks to its friction feature on high speed for 5-6 minutes)

    • The little cup attachments also work as a spice grinder, endless possibilities there

    • Smoothies, soups, sauces, dips. It's amazing for hummus and cashew cream cheese which I make both regularly. If you're a home cook and you like to make your own homemade foods, it's an absolute work horse. I bought mine second hand when it was 3 years old and I've had it for almost two years now. Still going strong.

  • +1

If I didn’t have a Vitamix already I’d be jumping on this, such a good deal at this price.
I use mine for smoothies mostly, but also sauces, batters, doughs, ice creams, soups, crushed ice cocktails… this thing is my baby, I’d be lost without it.

  • +1

I got a Kogan blender for $84 in 2014 and it still works great. Basically a Vitamix copy. It was A Vitablast model.

    • Same. My blade broke and they send me a new one made in Japan. Still going strong. I'm tempted with this price tho :/

  • Wish the silencing models were cheaper & more common. These are very loud!!

    • i'm on the lookout for quiet(ish) blenders too, which ones are you eyeing?

      • +1

There's only a few. You either get the ones that come in a perspex silencing case like the vitamix the quiet one or blentec have stealth / professional, or buy a aftermarket enclosure which is suitable for ninja blenders dome of silence / whisper blend for others.

The ones you see from boost / supermarkets will have some form of enclosure to attenuate the noise.

        • vitamix the quiet one and blendtec stealth are both $2.5k msrp holy helllllll

those enclosures aren't cheap either, but dome of silence looks good in comparison.

which supermarket ones have enclosures? do you mean the models being sold or like the ones the staff use while handing out samples?

          • +1

@xrailgun: I'm referring to stores like Boost in shopping malls rather then supermarkets, yes they are expensive.. As the market is for commercial/business rather than for residential.

  • +1

Whoa! What a deal, I have a vitamix, i think i paid about $900 going back about 7 years, its a beast, Gets used for slushies every summer. Never misses a beat.
Also of note, you can boil water with this just from the blade friction in 8 min.

    • +1

can boil water with this just from the blade friction

It's not friction it's cavitation. Cavitation eats away at metal so probably not the greatest way to boil water.

      • Hello. Can you please tell me more about this? I remember from fluids that cavitation was used to make water travel up a curved pipe.

  • +1

I've had a Vitamix TNC 5200 for 8 years and its virtually unbeatable for the price (I paid $700). Super easy to clean, and very versatile. If I didn't already own one, I'd jump on this price!

  • Love Vitamix (forget the model) - I agree it's one of the few appliances that's built to last. None of the other consumer brands I tried come close to the construction or capability (sunbeam, breville etc)

  • Omg is it out of stock? I was just checking out!

  • +6

Amazon has price-matched the e310 model as linked here.

For all intents and purposes, this is an identical model bar the left toggle; this is a variable/high toggle on the Aspire, whereas it is a variable/pulse toggle on the e310.

    • Thx for the info, might get the e310. I do wonder why the RRP is $795 on the Aspire as opposed to $599 on the e310. Maybe the high toggle is that much better than pulse… ;)

    • Wonder if this comes under Home and Garden for 5.4% cashback as well ? https://www.cashrewards.com.au/amazon-australia

      • Think it might come under kitchen…

    • The E310 sure comes with a slimmer jar which is good if you are blending small quantity, for the aspire, they are showing slimmer jar as well as a wider jar, not sure which one it comes with.

  • Always hear good feedback on these, I just don't use a blender enough to justify the cost ATM.

  • +1

For those that missed out, I've had an Omniblend for 5 years and been extremely happy with it.

    • +1

I had my omniblend and after 3 years it started making a funny noise. So I rang up and said it was still under their 5 year warranty but they said only certain bits are covered under the 5 year warranty and the bit I was having problems with only has a 2 year warranty. So they wanted me to pay over $100 to replace the part.
I used it everyday and purchased a russel Hobbs one since for $60 and it's lasted nearly 3 years now. Omniblend was $320.

  • Looks like it's back in stock.
    Had no issue checking out.

    • +1

Maybe someone cancelled their order. It still looks oos and $795 for me.

  • This or the Froothie blender brand (which is Aussie made)? Anyone who's had experience in both by any chance?

    • +1

The company might be Australian but the blenders are made o/s. That doesn't mean they aren't built like beasts; they are.

      • Oh right, that makes sense. I think you are right. So you have been happy with your Froothie blender so far?

        • +1

So far so good, I use mine usually 2-3 times per week, more often in winter when making soup. Still looks like new.
This is a great price for the Vitamix though, if you can get it for that.

    • +1

I had a Froothie blender and it died just out of warranty and they wanted $200 to maybe fix it, I did not go through with it.
My mother has a Vitamix that is older and has never missed a beat.

  • -1

Hmm I wish vitamix had glass jars.. Just read up about Tritan plastic and having second thoughts.

    • Why you want glass? Easier to clean?

  • -3

    its $795….
