Help with Shipping Large Items Interstate

Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a few large bulky items sent from Melbourne to Darwin and was hoping some people might have some tips/advice on how to do it as cheap as possible or experience with doing something similar…

At this point I'm not entirely sure what is coming so it is hard to get quotes but it would be something like 2 x prams, 2 x baby seats and a few large boxes. There is no rush in getting it up here so if there is some way of sending things cheap if you are willing to wait that would be ideal.

Cheers

    • Is it the best time to put things in shipping containers?

  • interparcel.
rather than package into one large crate/box/pallet - it might be cheaper to package each item seperate.

If you're flexible on time frame, backloading might be a cost effective option.

    • this, was cheapest way for me to get stuff from Broome to Melbourne, but had to wait a little while

Not sure what's in the boxes, but would it be worth it to ship something so far? Would it be cheaper to sell and re-purchase? (Especially if you're purchase second hand?)
