Bowden's Own Wet Dreams Sealant $24.49 (Was $34.99) @ Supercheap Auto

130

I actually posted this for the comments, besides that the product looks really good and application method is unorthodox. I am used to applying coatings dry (I am still using normal wax), this one wet and hose it off and seems pretty quick to coat whole the car probably around 10 minutes. Watch the video on the product web page.

Unfortunately the Happy Endings is not on sale.

  • $1.30 cheaper than repco. Nice.
Happy ending is on sale at repco.
Sca also price match if you have credits

  • +5

gotta give credits to their marketing team…to come up with this product name

  • Be aware the Bowdens facebook group isn't welcoming to discount posts and deal stacking.

I stacked the Repco 30% and the cashrewards 20% cashback to get a ripping deal on the new Mr Black plastic bumper dye product.. the post with screenshots was rejected as a post…

    • Can you inform us here please?

      • Cashrewards increased cashback ended a few days ago. Bowdens was (is?) 30% off at repco. Cashrewards was doing 20% cashback

Nobody posted a specific stacking deal here.. i suppose i probably should have

The Bowdens products are good quality without the hassle of shopping at "detailer" shops which are almost never near you or charge too much for shipping

        • Nice one. I have heaps of Bowden's stuff but wanted to try some of their new products. Will keep an eye out for a repeat of that deal!

        • Maybe the Bowden's admins don't know about or understand cashback sites. I could understand not wanting to 'confuse' the members of the group with something like this.

I did similar and they canned it also saying they already had posts about the sale but none mentioned cash back.

Can also relate to this, not good for business I guess but we'll keep the extra discounts to ourselves then…?

        • I'd wager that stacking the deals brought the product below cost. Repco would frown on them promoting it

          • @Matt P: The most recent 20% cashback on Cashrewards was a promo Cashrewards were running and paying for. So in this instance, Repco wouldn't pay anything.

But generally, I would agree with you. I'm sure Repco wouldn't necessarily be happy with the manufacturer promoting a discount that the seller would have to pay for.

    • it feels like Bowden's Own may be struggling given both major retailers are giving discounts.

If you keep an eye out, they are always on sale. Just like Kathmandu lol. You only ever buy when it's at least 30% off otherwise you will pay too much!

  • I'd give the new Bead Machine a run, a bit more prep work but is their toughest coating yet.
That said, I do love the easy application of Happy Ending on the daily drives, doesn't get any easier.

    • I've used Gyeon Wet Coat for years and it does a similar job as a sealant. Both last a surprisingly long time.

Also to let you know Repco have 30% off on all Bowdens Own products at the moment so if you are after the Happy Endings you can grab it from Repco :-)

    Enjoy!

      Cheaper but it's a 500ml bottle vs 770ml.
      Both are good products.

    • and only if you are close enough to pick up.

  • Are there any of these new sealants that you can use as/like a drying aid? Seems a bit wasteful to basically hose the car off twice.

    • From Bowden's, you would use Afterglow to seal and dry in one step.
Adds good depth/shine but not the same level of protection and beading as the other sealants.

I effectively rinse the car 4 times per wash. 3 with the pressure washer and lastly with just the hose. Snow foam and rinse, 2 bucket wash and rinse then Happy Ending and rinse. The final rinse, flush it with an open ended hose and it will sheet the water off leaving the car just about dry.

      • ..sheet the water off leaving the car just about dry.

        Ooof that sounds nice!

Thought as much. I already use a spray wax as a drying aid. Wanted to have my cake and eat it too with these new sealants. With the recent droughts, I still feel guilty washing the car with the pre rinse. And the water runs off into the garden, so it's not exactly being wasted.

You use surprisingly little water when you use a pressure washer.

    came for the puns

  • Was just browsing what else is on sale,
Autogly UHD Wax is a decent price at $81.99 down from $117.99. Haven't used it personally, I use Dodo Juice for carnauba's but it's meant to be good stuff, seems to get good reviews.

Also with Happy Ending not being included, if you want to use a pressure washer to apply, Polar Seal is $32.99 down from $47.99.

  • so like CarPro's Hydro2. will last a couple of months depending on how little you touch the car e.g. washing or spot cleaning.

it's sealant for lazy people :)
