Thanks, got size 1 for bub

  • Cheers OP, good price.

  • I just bought a size 3 big pack 3 days ago. $44 for 176 (after subscription), and I believe that's the normal price. But that's the "Ultra Dry" version. Not sure what's the difference between that and this Ultimate.

    • I find ultimates are more absorbent and softer material. I've used them as night nappies for my eldest as I wasn't changing her in the middle of the night (she sleeps about 12 hours straight) and ultra dry for day nappies when she was being changed every 3-4 hours but she is now toilet trained in the day so I don't need any more.

  • +1

39c each for the size 5s doesn't seem that great to me :(

Ultimates are a decent nappy though

    • Definitely better for the smaller sizes as they have a higher nappy count per pack.

  • Ultimate a lot better quality, but usually very expensive, only pickup when on special, like today. Otherwise use Aldi, which is a very good everyday option.

    • +4

      Agree.
We use Aldi during the day and Huggies Ultimates for night

    • for us aldi worked best from day 1, for all conditions.
now he's 3, only using 1 nappy, at night time… during the day he's toilet trained..

      • +1

I recommend the Huggies Night Sheets for night training, they're very good (albeit costly).

        • thanks mate. will give it a on.
it was on my list to research.. "moving to nappy free nights strategies"

          • +1

@daft009: On special ATM @Woolies…thanks, will give this a go. Trying to get boys out of nights is hard!
Guessing i need to stock up on sheets as well though lol

    • +2

Their quality has changed since they moved out of Australia!

  • +3

Is this just the old Ultimate nappy with a redesigned box to make it look more natural and eco friendly or is it a new version because they seem more expensive?

    • +1

Newer version again. They keep getting worse in quality.

  • Price is $21.60 for me.

$20.40 must be for Prime members.

    • +1

Correct. 15% off for prime, 10% otherwise.

  • +1

I just go for the ultra dry does the job so much cheaper.

  • +1

Which cash rewards category to choose?

  • +2

Purchased some boxes from Amazon on 14 May, still yet to be shipped, estimated to arrive on 16 June. Keep this in mind when ordering.

    • ordered now, coming tomorrow for size 3.

  • +1

Not seeing the save and subscribe option for size 4.

    • Same here not seeing S&S for any of them really.

      • you can add that option once you have added to cart

    • Same until you refresh the page.

  • Thanks Op, needed to do a restock.

  • +1

Change the title to ($20.40 with subscribe and save) please. The current parentheses don't make sense.

    • +1

Or delete that part entirely, as subscribe and save is currently not an option for any of the sizes. Without that the biggest discount is 18% off RRP.

      • +2

If you refresh the page the subscribe and save appears again. You have to do it each time you change size.

        • Weird, yes that fixed it. Thanks very much for pointing that out

  • which is better this or babylove?

    • +1

matter of preference and what suits the kid

      • My little one is due next week. I have no idea which one suits him. Thanks anyway

        • Lot has to do with personal preference and your child. Our kids are on the small side and some of the brands nappy size was odd shaped for them. We've used nearly every brand available but now mainly using BabyLove as that suits our kids.

          This is from our experience:

Huggies: more expensive but a really good nappy. We never had any leaks but also find them to feel quite padded… But the extra padding makes it feel like a more "premium" nappy.

BabyLove: our preferred nappy as the price range is a little cheaper than Huggies, have found them to be just as absorbent as Huggies but aren't as padded. Shape also suits our kids.

Thankyou: similarly priced to Huggies but found the length a little longer than the others. We have small kids so these didn't work for us as we had a few leaks.

Coles/Woolies: nappies are ok but being budget nappies, they feel quite stiff and had the odd leak here or there.

ALDI: Lots of people rave about the ALDI nappies but we weren't so keen. We did have more leaks with these nappies so we stopped using them.

    • The difference isn’t that noticeable to me. Especially when they’re newborns and being changed very often. I find baby love a tad smaller so for a few weeks it’ll fit better, and then the next few weeks Huggies will fit better before you move onto the next size.
Makes no real difference personally, I get whatever is cheapest at Coles.

    • huggies for our baby leaked quite a bit, but easy to put on. Aldi cheap, more bulky, bit harder to put on, suits bigger baby. Baby love we use exclusively now, cheaper, easy to put on, hasn't leaked like huggies. As other people said, try them out and see what suits.

note..Only size 1-2 usually have the wet indicators.

  • +1

My huggies size 4 have a 50/50 chance of leaking at night - anyone else have the same issue?

    • +1

The woolies brand nappies are much better than huggies imo.

    • This happens on the size 3 as well. Just started happening a few days ago.

    • Is the size 4 quite roomy? If it fits on the smaller side I find sizing up for nights fixes the leaking.

      • I use Size 3 during day, size 4 at night. Leakage galore :(

        • Doing the exact same, day is Ultra Dry and night Ultimate… No leakage here!

  • Size 1 and 2 slightly cheaper if you go to the months supply option.

These are the new "Made in China" nappies. Thinner and less absorbent than the old Ultimates for the same price, there is also a weird strong chemical smell to them and some babies (mine included) who have never suffered nappy rash have been getting chemical burns from them. Avoid.

    • ok I'm staying away then. Too bad Huggies used be the golden standard. They decided to go for cheap manufacturing then I'm not buying them

    • Definitely a cheaper feel to them, a lot like their competitors now, however no baby rash for mine.

    • Thanks for the warning. I bought a pack for bubs 2 and still had some leftover from last time so I thought I’d compare them. Definitely feels of a different (Cheaper) Material and the absorbent padding doesn’t feel as dense in the new ones. Maybe it’s time to try another brand since huggies is no longer the ultimate choice. Disappointing that they’d cheap out on quality for their premium line.

    • +1

What exactly does Huggies have going for it then, Aldi Mamia range are made in Australia and cheaper than Huggies, admittedly the Australian made huggies were more absorbent but if what you're saying is correct then there really isn't any reason to purchase Huggies. We use Huggies (still have some Australian made ones) at night and Aldi at day.

    • +2

Yep, the whole "Made in China" put me off Huggies, specifically Ultra Dry. I did definitely notice the lesser quality in the China made ones, and the wetness indicator goes straight to bright blue end to end with even the smallest amount of wetness.

So we decided to change to Aldi's Mamia "Made in Australia" Ultra Dry ones. The absorbancy factor was far less than the Huggies ones, and the nappies always felt wet and spongy/squishy. After a pack of those, we went back to the China made Huggies as at least it adsorbed better and didn't feel wet.

It's a shame Huggies moved manufacturing to China, and quality is less than its predecessor Aus made ones, but I found they still topped the Aldi's.

      Haven't tried other brands though!

We use Ultra Dry for day, and only recently started on one size up Ultimate for night in an attempt to reduce the middle of the night changes.

Food for thought… Huggies are also made in Singapore too (and I'm pretty sure I've seen Korea as well). Got a pack of Huggies Pull Ups and they are made in Singapore.

Yep this happened to us. A year of huggies overnight without changing and never a nappy rash. These new ones and bright red painful skin even after short use.

After 18 month of trying all types, I like
      -baby love nappies and pants
-aldi (at 12kg we are using a size 6!) Good for daytime but also works for nighttime for us when we tried it . In summer they weren’t absorbent enough and May have caused heat rash but not nappy rash
-rascal and friends (at 12 kg we are using a size 4) they have a high back which is good , they generally are an accurate size for the weight they say, they have a wide crotch so they need to be sinched in like a cloth nappy. We use these for overnight all the time. All night with no leak or rash .
-cub from Coles good for daytime. We accidentally used overnight and had no issues or leaks though, I just worry they are less absorbent and could cause a rash with lots of long durations
-for a little baby, tushies, mater, old huggies ultimate, baby love, Aldi we’re good

I avoid all huggies now, Woolworths are ok but not great for being so papery, thank you was an odd fit and we got our only leak

  • +3

Important question. are they still made in Australia. If not I forgo this deal

    • +1

No huggies have been made in Australia for over a year.

    • -1

good. more stock for us. thanks

      • More rashes for you mate. You can have it all broden

        • Yep. Love that stingy and burning feels mate. Urging me to perform for another 2-3 rounds.

New style is no longer recommended by Choice.

After reading the comments I ended up getting the HUGGIES Ultra-Dry Nappies, Boys, Size 3 (6-11kg), One-Month Supply, 176 count for $46.58 with SUB/SAVE. More nappies for the money.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B076CHRGJV/ref=ppx_yo_d… (Size 3)

  • Are these the same like the ones available at Costco?

  • +1

I just use Aldi Mamia for the smaller sizes, and Woolies Little Ones for the bigger sizes. For some reason, I find both brands are better than one another on different ends of the sizes. All the packs are $10 with decent counts.

    • +1

Huggies one is not the most comfortable or best fit for bub, but its definitely absorb more leaks than other common brands.

      • The old dry and ultimate range is very good never leaks at night if your get babies to wear them properly.

Golden standard. Set the bar very high.

They cheapen out in quality made Aussie job loss. Disgraceful and ruin their own brand.

If they don't fix this. They got no place here and might as well be out of market

Size 4 and 5 all gone?

    • Looks like it

  • I've just got a question with how Amazon subscriptions work.

If I purchase the item as subscription which reduces normal price by 15% in this case. The next time the subscription is due will the price I'm charged be based on the new normal price minus 15%, or does the subscription lock in the price that I originally purchased the item which includes the discount?

In other words does the changing price of an item affect how much I'm charged each time the subscription is due but with the discount always applied based on the item price at the time?

    • Sorry accidentally double tapped post button, now can't remove comment

    • It doesnt lock the price.Prices varies everytime your order is due plus 15% discount.I apply subscription at 6 months interval, so plenty of time to cancel after the order.

      • I thought that's the case, thanks for clarifying charlie77

    • deleting comment..meant to be a reply

    • "While you will always receive a Subscribe & Save discount, individual product prices can go up or down over time. If the price of your subscribed product changes, the new price will be displayed in your order review email and will be applied only on future shipments. You can review your subscription price and edit or cancel your subscription at any time"

  • Probably dumb question to ask in a disposable nappy thread, but anyone tried reusable cloth nappies? What are the experience?

    • Lots of washings that's the experience

  • Size 4 only, others are out of stock
