Stainless Steel Step Bin Combo (29.7L & 9L) by Eco Living $47.99 (was $59.99) @ Costco (Membership Required)

200

I've been searching for months a decent kitchen bin, and couldn't believe how hard it was to find what I thought were basic features until I saw this deal.

  • Standard 30L size (below waist height)
  • Includes an inner bin (instead of a ring for the bin liner)
  • Soft close lid
  • Stay up lid
  • Lid covers up/hides any bin liners
  • Pedal doesn't feel flimsy

Looks decent quality so far, fingers crossed it lasts!

  • Aldi has these for sale every year, the one with motion sensor is same price as this pedal one

  • I would hardly call this a deal, you should go to tkmaxx to get a premium bin same sizde for the same price

    • link?

      • Tkmaxx has no website. Basically they sell clearance items from overseas

    • Not everywhere has a TKMaxx.

      • Not everyone has Costco / memberships

        • True, but just because a deal isn't open to everyone doesn't mean it shouldn't be posted. A large proportion of the deals posted here rely on buyers having some sort of paid subscription (eBay Plus, Amazon Prime etc.)

          • @banana365: I didn't neg the deal, it's just not a great deal

  • Tbh, I find the plastic one to be more durable than thin steel one.

I've spent years looking for a pair of bins that look reasonable, are robust, don't cost a fortune and (most importantly) my wife accepts. No luck yet.

I've got plans for building my own, just need to finalise it and decide whether to go with stainless steel or aluminium.

      • I found the lever on the pedal and top lid on aluminium one break/bend very easily. Last one only lasted me few months. Went with a thick plastic one, after 1.5 years of abuse, it still looks like new.

        • Do you know the make/model? The one I'll make is just one of a long list of jobs of wildly varying priority.

          • +1

@banana365: It's anko from Kmart. Don't know if they still sell the same model tho.
