  • Thanks OP, grabbed this one too.

  • Bah! Way too noisy

Totally correct about the regular Vornado models ! Noisy as hell.

But this one has an analogue speed dial and can be turned down to a super low RPMs and it's still pretty effective, it's the quietest fan I've ever had !

Not for everyone but I seriously rate it.

    Bah! Humbug!

I bought the medium one recently.
It is quiet. I am a light sleeper and use it to circulate the air in the apartment and can barely hear it unless over 50% (mind you 30-40% render great results for a light breeze at night).

A lot of people compare the DC to regular model. DC is def quieter by quite a lot

  • Is the fan quite or not ?

    • This one is both … speed dial and can be turned down to a super low RPMs or cranked for aircraft taking off level noise mode.

Note too that the DC model's speed dial can be left set in a chosen position then switched on and off via a smart plug - the other models default to off when power is applied. As mentioned above they're way quieter than the AC models (probably thanks to their granular speed controls).

  • I assume the 633DC is better because it costs a lot more. However, both of the 533DC and 633DC specs are similar so I'm a bit confused. Does anyone have any experience with them both? Thanks.

Bought a 533DC when the 633DC wasn't yet available, but I'd go with the latter now if money is no object as the 633DC will move more air for a given noise level. The 533DC can indeed be quiet as others have mentioned (it's great being able to set it to exactly the speed you want, and it can run at much lower speed than your typical 3-speed fan) but has to be set to the higher, noisier end of its range if you want it to really bounce air around a bedroom. Main thing the 533DC has going for it is more compact size.

      • Ohh thanks. I guess I'll wait for the 633DC to be on sale then.
