Putting this up here because been watching this kit for a while. So, it will either be a good deal or will get negged to oblivion and "cheaper elsewhere", so it's a win win for me!

Same kit on Amazon is $890+ and from US sellers.
eBay is $745 (ironcially from MyHobbies store.)
Lego Aus. Cant even find it there…???
Other Lego sites… ??? I don't know, cant remember them. Can someone remind me of them?

And don't forget, your FREE!!! Valentines puppy with order over $75… which I think this may qualify for…

Hmm that's a lot of $ for a stem kit that (when you look at the actual pieces) barely resembles lego

Arduino + visit to a scrap yard …raw stem kit.

You could buy a few dozen ESP8266 boards, steppers, a 3D printer to make them Lego compatible, and still have $100 in change.

This is the education version for schools, etc so has a premium price on it… to me you are better off getting two normal EV3 kits for about $300-$350 ea and that way get more motors, two bricks and more parts. I think one advantage of this kit is the rechargeable battery pack and AC charger which you don't really need unless you are a school running these for long periods of time and want to be able to change out batteries quickly and easily. I have looked closely for awhile but it may have some of the different sensors as well for the extra price over the home kit and of course the parts tray. Individual motors and sensors can be purchased direct from Lego though to bulk up the home kit and prob still work out cheaper?

    • Well, I never thought of it that way.

    • A quick search there are plenty floating around below $500 that can't find buyers .

    • very good explanation. thanks

  • Hi,
I'm looking for a kit like this.
I have one dumb question: does this one compatible with the traditional bricks?
    Thanks

    • I think sarakoth pointed a better alternative to this kit above. So that might be a better alternative to this kit.

And yes, if it’s LEGO, it would be compatible with other LEGO products.
