Same here. Went the 2x470g. Great coffee! Will be placing another order in a couple of weeks.

  • Title says 4x480g but the detail says 4x470g

    • Thanks, adjusted :)

Wow, awesome deal! It'll take me a couple of months to get through 2 KG - if I grab this deal, will the beans keep for that long in a sealed bag?

    • +3

No. Part of the "going off" process is by gassing (releasing gasses from the beans). A sealed bag won't prevent this.
Coffee in a sealed bag for a couple of months will make poor coffee.

You will be better off going for the 2 bag deal.

Lovely. Thanks for the information, I'll grab two bags.

      • Thanks for your advise :)

I find they keep quite well if you put the unopened bags in the freezer, defrosting them the day before you want to open them.

        Thank you!

      Manna is my go to.

I keep the beans in the fridge and I can't tell much difference in taste from new after 6~8 weeks… The main difference is less aroma; ie when you open the bag there's less of an immediate coffee gas, but even after 8 weeks still has a nice aroma.
      Haven't tried the freezer.

      • Awesome, thanks!

    Great timing, once again…!!

  • First time customer! Just ordered.

To those who have tried - do you use mainly espresso or filter for these beans?

Anyone using a barista express machine? (grind size, amount etc)

    Excited to try these :-)

Looking for a refill of coffee beans I came back to this deal and your question.

Have ordered Manna beans before and found them excellent. Iโ€™m using a Breville Barista Express BES870. I use the built in grinder and have it set around 6 in the outside with the internal burr grinder fine tuning set to 3. That said, I think Barista Express models are all a bit different as to the grind between them. Also my grind setting changes as the beans age (need to grind finer). Youโ€™ll need to tune yours in yourself and your grind setting may be quite different.

I weigh my beans at 17g in and weigh the output to approx 34g (2:1 ratio). I have a small eBay scale under the cup and stop the pour manually if needed.

The pour should take around 25-30 secs including pre-infuse. What I look for is a steady honey-like stream of coffee. Not coming out too fast like water and not choking (drips and drops only).

It might sound like a lot of work, but I enjoy the experience and improvements of my coffee over time. Itโ€™s not for everyone.

Check out the YouTube channel Hoonโ€™s Coffee. Itโ€™s mainly about the Breville Barista Express and how to use it. Enjoy!

      • Thank you so much for the reply.

I began researching extensively since i posted and you just confirmed what i have been doing for the last week now. I have now tried all of the beans bar the Brazil one (using it for normal drip 7 pour-over coffee), you are right (as are alot of other people on here), these beans are soooo amazingggg!! At the moment i have my internal burr set to 8 and outside set to 1. Quite fine, but it is coming out very honey-like, might need to fiddle with the settings further as i am getting quite a quick pour of around 20 secs.

Definitely enjoying the experience and wanna improve over time.

        Thanks again!

  • Anyone else struggle with the Brazil Adalgisa Vilela? This is the only one I've consistently had issues dialing in, every other roast gets dialed in perfectly first go!
