Seems the upgrade to ozbargain’s favourite headphones (WH-1000XM3) that everyone was waiting for includes the very changes / features that were expected.

Main new features seem to be:

  • Industry leading ANC
  • Clear hands-free calling using 5 built-in microphones
  • Easy switch between multiple BT devices (auto & using button)

Previous carried over features:

  • LDAC
  • Claimed 30 hours battery-life
  • 40mm drivers
  • Touch control
  • Ambient mode & Adaptive sound-control (location & behaviour)
  • Quick charge to 10 mins charge = 5 hours battery-life

      Except audio quality unless I'm missing something. Bluetooth SBC vs LDAC is not even close …

    Nothing new that the XM3 had that i really need, maybe the multiple device support, but that should really of been fixed with a firmware update

      I just double-checked the quick charge 10 mins for 5 hours was on the XM3 as well. Fixed in post.

      the ONLY criticism of the XM3 was the phone call quality. The XM3 is just heads and shoulder above everything else.

    Thanks for the post. I don't know how much of a leak this is as it was announced 2 weeks ago, but in any case I like the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously like the Bose.

    Finally supports multi device, thats the only tempting feature for switching from my XM3's. Unless the XM4's design is really exciting.

    xm2 owner here.

    Micro USB and single device support is annoying, but not worth the upgrade. They’ve simply made such a good product that it’s very difficult to improve on, in any major sense.

      You know that new products dont only appeal to the previous product owners, right?
      xm4>xm2, now you can say whatever you want to make yourself feel better.

        I’m making a comment praising Sony on their products, and not falling in line with how many other manufacturers will intentionally release sub-par products so they have room to add new features, or upgrade existing ones, in subsequent models to bleed the customers of their money.

    For some reason Ill call it a fake, it seems like nothing new. Obviously it seems to be a lack of specs shown though
