Does it need any kitchen mods? Or just pull out and replace.

    • Assume just pull out and replace.

However, you wouldn't really be able to tell if the benchtop needs widening until you actually pull out the cooktop right?

      • If you measured existing cooktop and subtracted 20mm off each measurement you would have a ballpark of the existing cutout, or measure cutout underneath. If you know the model of the new one there will be cutout dimensions online.

  • Can depend on where you are buying from.

Appliances Online are good because they can install what you buy from them and remove the old for you.

    Removal & recycling*
At the time of delivery, we can also remove your old appliances to be recycled. All you need to do is check the 'removal of old disconnected appliances' box during the checkout process.

Old appliances being removed from your home must be similar to the new appliance to be delivered, and fully disconnected from power, water, and gas (gas disconnections must be performed by a licensed plumber). All clothes dryers need to have been taken down from wall brackets prior to our arrival.
Appliances Online works in conjunction with Wasteflex and various other waste metal management providers to ensure old appliances are disposed of in a way that is responsible and sustainable. Where possible, we also endeavour to recycle new product packaging and materials.
Please note that our free delivery, connection and removal service may not be available or offered for proforma and agency products. Proforma and agency brands are those that retailers do not hold stock of and instead, do their own deliveries of their own products. Once you have entered your postcode at the top of our website, the product pages will reflect which services are available in your area for your chosen appliance. If you have any concerns, please feel welcome to call us on 1300 000 500.

The only problem is that in order for them to remove the old appliances, you will need to disconnect the gas and electrical wiring yourself first which will mean needing to engage an electrician and plumber anyway.

light plumbing or electrical work such as disconnecting, i'm pretty sure licensed handyman will be able to do and they can do that when they come to install the new one.

        • If the handyman is a licensed electrician or has disconnect/reconnect license then yes he could(NSW). As for the gas he would need to be a gas plumber. I have my trade in Appliance Servicing(yes it’s a trade) and I cannot even legally disconnect a gas appliance.

  • Make sure you have an existing dedicated oven circuit otherwise you may need a new one installed if it isn't a 10a plug in

    • my current oven is turned on via a wall switch, so im guessing it has its own circuit right?

      • Look on the circuit breaker, it will say “oven” on one of the circuits

  • Not that helpful as this was Melbourne metro and 2 years back, but I spent $300 to get an electric oven and gas stove installed. This included cutting into the bench as the new cooktop was 75cm, while the old one was 60cm.
