QHD monitor recommendation for remote work (non-gaming)

Hi all

There are a few posts for gaming QHD monitors, but couldn't find anything specific for work purposes.

No gaming, 60hz sounds ok, 75 hz would be great. Would love a UWQHD but that is a fair bit out of my budget, so settling with a QHD to pair with a existing Dell 1920x1200 screen. Budget 400$.

Is anyone using something similar with a TN/VA panel?

Comments

  • Another panel the same ideally.
    I got 2x Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" LED IPS PC MONITOR 1920x1200
at the start of the pandemic for $215 delivered from Ebay (used), perhaps have a look for something similar be it refurbished etc.

    • Prefer QHD :)

      • get another one then :_)

Maybe this $299 Kogan one? Looks to be restocked but have no idea on quality.
Or maybe this $349 viewsonic (on backorder) but I must admit I'm disappointed with my viewsonic (different model, stuck pixel appeared after 2 months)

    • Thanks, avoiding Kogan but the Viewsonic does look good for that price.
Sorry to hear about the dead pixel issue, warranty?

      • Tried warranty, they said they only accept returns for dead/stuck pixels within 30 days of purchase.

    • I'm returning a https://www.umart.com.au/ViewSonic-32in-WQHD-IPS-Frameless-M…
Similar that was $349, different model.

Can't beat Dell quality, these are a bit hit and miss. Will see what they say, in Brisbane..

      • What’s wrong with your’s?

          Dead pixel

          • @G-rig: Did you purchase less than 30 days ago, if so you can make a claim. Outside of that, you’re screwed (like me)

              @FireRunner: Oh geez,that's no good.
Yes, picked it up under 3w ago, ago,
Just took it back to umart, no dramas so will get the refund.

I got a "AOC Q32V3/WS 31.5" VA Gaming Monitor QHD 2560x1440 5ms HDMI DP". Certainly no frills but has done the job since Feb for 10-14hrs per work day. Paid about $270 during an Ebay 20% off special.

    • Interesting. Searching for reviews now.

I would not hesitate to recommend the HP z27n G2. It's QHD, 75Hz and rated as one of the best panels for office work. I spent $550~ on mine last year. Rated as best 27" monitor: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-27-inch-moni…

Excellent stand, inputs, has USB-C, very thin bezels. It is $599 on eBay/Umart, but I cannot emphasise just how good it is.

Yea I used two of them at my previous workplace, but for that price (600$) you might aswell extend to 800$ and start looking at entry level UWQHDs.

      I would buy z27 g2 for 400$ this very minute :)

Dont want to spend 600$ on a single screen though.

Makes sense - if you're not in a rush, I did see (pre-COVID) a Z27n G2 new in box for $350 on eBay, so worth keeping an eye out!

They are common in workplaces so they may pop-up on ex-lease sites from time to time.

          Just a heads-up w.r.t ebay.

I ordered a lenovo pq27 20 for a good price adn paid via paypal.
Within an hour the owner replied (via his linked email) that his account has been hacked.

Long story short, got the transaction reversed via paypal, watch out for scams on ebay.
Lot of accounts are being cracked & dummy items put up for sale (usally on accounts with very good seller ratings)

Goes back to the golden rule, if a price is too good to be true, well…you get the picture :)

  • I'm getting a Lenovo 32" QHD from Office Works for work and will let you know the quality when it is delivered.

$399-ish, free delivery, hard to go wrong: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-32-…

Hope OzBargainer can snap up this deal, although this would lessen the chance I would be able to get a second unit if it were good. Already low stock around where I live.

    • Got it delivered, and loving it. I think productivity will go …down, youtube QHD video looks really nice
