Seiko Service Locations in Melbourne Recommendations

Hi all,

I've got a Seiko automatic and it's been about 4-5 years, just wondering if anyone has a recommended place to do service? It is a SARB033 that I've taken out of the drawer after letting it sit dormant for about 1-2 years. It is now roughly losing about a minute a day, could be magnetization I'm not sure.

In Melbourne, pref South East.

Places I've seen/read reviews about:

(obviously) Seiko Service Centre - 264-274 Little Collins Street Melbourne VIC 3000 (anyone have favourable experiences here?)

Bob Shao Watchmaker - 100 Russell St, Melbourne VIC 3000 (it is a tad far for me)

Anyone else have a good recommendation for Seiko service places? Thanks.

Be prepared to wait, be prepared to pay

    • I mean, it's not like a Rolex with a wait time of 3 months… right? or so I've heard

3 months to wait before being serviced, and about 4-6 weeks for a complete overhaul+qc for an automatic.

      • I looked at having something done to a seiko or citizen watch through the authorised repairer, cant remember if actually went through with it.

But it was pricey, and was quoted to take awhile, think it was like $150ish just for an inspection

  • I saw a pretty good video on youtube about getting the sarb033 serviced. This is the sydney service centre though. Might be worth watching for reference.

    • Yep I saw that video too, and found the same April 19+ Seiko AU service price list on Google.

I mean it was a 500$ AUD watch and I probably don't want to pay half of it for a service. I like the watch, so hoping to get a trusted independent reputable watch repairer for a quote.

I would prefer the official service centres to be last resort, much like doing car service at stealerships.

  • I had a warranty repair at the Melbourne city outlet. Professional service, no complaints
