Fob Key Deposit return after departing apartment

I moved out of an apartment i was renting 6 weeks ago and the previous strata management and building manager are ignoring me and thus not returning the $150 deposit for the fob keys i was told i would get back.

Who is the appropriate agency i should bring this up with? NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal? If yes, and i have the receipt for the fob keys, how likely is it i would win my case?

Thanks

  • Are you able to go there and demand it back in person?

    • I was just checking where my strata management was located. If i go to their office in person that would work?

Well it is harder to ignore you in person.

But it is potentially only Step 1.

@gavinchiyo: It's an uppercase I. You're not going to be taken seriously via written communication if you write in that manner.

@kahn: Yes, they were ignored due to not using an uppercase I. Why didn't you pick this up when proofing their messages to the strata management?

            • @kahn: You assume i write posts on internet forums and in formal emails the same way?

The emails i originally received from the strata management (before they started ignoring me) were full of poor grammer and spelling. I doubt that's the issue.

  • I'm actually surprised there was a line item for a deposit on the fob. Isn't that the kind of thing that the rental bond covers?
