Edifier R1700BT Hiss/White Noise?

So I just got the speakers and I love them, they're really sturdy and feel substantial. I have one issue though, when I put them to my ear, I hear a slight hiss. Is this normal? Could the people who own these speakers try too? This happens even when it's only connected to power and I play via bluetooth. I did some googling, and apparently it's normal according to this review so can you guys confirm? I find when I max out the volume on the speaker too the buzzing becomes noticeable at 50cm. Some people say it's the amp, others say it's the grounding of my outlets.

  • I just bought them and I’ll get them Monday, I’ll test and update .

    • Thankyou! Hope you enjoy them, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

      • I’ve set it up and tried it , doesn’t seem to have hiss to me.

        • Even when you put your ear right to it when it's plugged in? I can only hear the hiss then. Also when I turn the volume up to max on the speakers with the remote it becomes noticeable.

          • @alliegrain: Yeah i got it plugged in and really close to where I'm sitting, no noise. Its plugged to my pc direct, but I know my motherboard has a separate DAC so that could play a part.

    • Oh wow I've never heard of this! Thanks!

      • It may not work, but for 11 bucks it's worth a try. I had some issues with my studio monitors with noise when gaming and this solved it.

  • Probably very late to the party but I bought Edifier R1000T4 last month and have noticed the same noise. Mine are the simplest speakers as they only have one input i.e. aux and I can hear the noise even when I disconnect all the input cables except for the power cable. and I checked this model does not have a ground connection so it shouldn't be affected by ground noise. @OP any luck with your issue?

    • This is such a late reply, I'm so sorry lol. I just ended up keeping them as the noise is so faint (only when I put it up to my ear), I did do a lot of researching/googling and came to the conclusion that it's normal, Edifier support also said the same thing. The hiss has remained the same level. You've probably dealt with issue already but just throwing it out there to contact Edifier if you haven't already.
