About Ax-il Coffee

Our aim has always been simple; to source, roast and produce the best cup of coffee. We have a passionate and enthusiastic team who travel the globe to find the best specialty coffee available. We are continuously building relationships with coffee producers to ensure we are getting the highest quality.

About Proud Mary Coffee

Proud Mary Coffee is dedicated to producing exceptional coffee.

We take great pride in supporting and representing coffee producers and communities. We visit our producers each year, venture to their farms, homes and families. This is a relationship. We discover who they are, what motivates them and how we can support one another. Through this tangible form, we generate a mutual understanding and appreciation. These are the true rock stars of coffee, the story starts with the producer.

Our vision ensures that our direct involvement both financially supports and rewards the quality of coffee. The effect is twofold. This fosters improvements through farms reinvestment and infrastructure into equipment and facilities. Furthermore, this enhances the quality each harvest, contributing to the potential of higher coffee production. Purchasing both small(micro/nano lots) and large scale lots facilitates growth in higher production for producers and their supporting communities and networks.

I don't have a coffee grinder at home. Is there anyway to request for the coffee to be ground? Thanks

    • Hi there, how do you make coffee at home?

      • +1

        Got an espresso machine.

        • +1

Hi, yes we can, please let me know what kind of machine you have in the notes section at check out.

    • +2

My advice is to be a bit careful … I am in the same boat, I have a cheaper espresso machine with pressurised baskets (dual wall) and ordered some coffee from another provider group at “espresso” grind … since it’s an espresso machine right? The grind was too fine for my machine and should have gotten “stovetop” apparently.

      • Is this the Breville range?

        • Sunbeam em3820. I just bought a batch from another provider,
Next time I’m low I’ll look you up!

what do you recommend for cold drip? Which Beans?

    • Hi, what method do you use for your cold drip? Also, what flavours are you looking for?

      • +1

I typically go for a Columbian or Ethopian Yigracheffe style coffee.
I use a cold drip tower.

        • Gotcha! Send through a message on the website and I'll sort you out with a good deal :)

Can vouch for Proud Marys Angel Wings being one of the best beans in Australia.

    • Very tasty!

I just ordered (#1513), i ordered whole beans right? Can i ask what the roasting date on these is/will be?

        • Hi there, yes they'll be whole beans :) Also coffee will be roasted either today or tomorrow morning. How do you make your coffee?

          • +1

@directcoffee: Ok happy days, I have the DeLonghi La Specialista with built in grinder, works a treat on grind size 1 with the Angel Wings.

            • @effraye: Awesome! Buying a decent grinder or combo machine is a worthwhile investment IMO.

              • +1

@directcoffee: Yeah only just invested in it, have used one of the 'Frieling Coffee for One Filter' for the last 2 years but pales in comparison!

Hi rep can you recommend which of the options would be best suited to cold brew?

    • Hi there, what's your setup and what flavours do you like? Also, what have you used previously and enjoyed?

      • Currently using a carafe with stainless filter insert (from a previous Ozb deal!), And not too familiar with different types but I drink it with milk?

        • Hmm interesting, what does that taste like? An iced latte?

  • +1

Can you recommend a good filter coffee (specifically Aeropress).

    • Sure thing! What flavours do you like and what have you previously enjoyed?

  • Can anyone give an idea of what grind setting you have for these beans, please (Humbler Blend). For reference, I have a SMEG ECF01 Expresso machine and a Breville Smartgrinder Pro. I have only had my setup for a month, but at the moment, my first venture has been the Aldi Lazzio Dark; Grind setting 17 for 10.4 seconds for 2 shots. This is giving me 15g.

Hi! Great grinder - I've got the same one. I'd start with 18g at setting 20. From there you may need to keep adjusting to find the perfect setting. Age and temp of the coffee will mean that you can't just set and forget if you want to get consistently great coffee.
      Hope that helps?

How long is this special offer for please? I'm waiting on coffee from Normcore right now and it will take me about 3 weeks to drink it.

    • Probably not that long! Feel free to just buy the coffee now and freeze it til then :)

I drink mainly black coffee using the plunger What beans do you recommend. Am looking at 1kg purchase.

    • Hi there,
What flavours do you like? More chocolate or fruity flavours? So I can help guide you, what brand of coffee have you had in the past and enjoyed?

      • +1

Hi back, I mainly drink merlo private blend or undercover roasters BLK (more recently)

        • Awesome, in that case I'd suggest Ghost Rider!

My 1kg of Ozblend arrived today, roasted 2 days ago. Doesn't get much fresher than that. Good value!!!

    DCOZB150620 is not working.
I need 1kgs of ozblend and proud mary each.

    $7 to WA?

    • Hey there, I was just doing some editing and forgot to turn it back on. Can you try it again now?

  • Hey OP, I'm trying to get two 1kg bags delivered - 1 x Humbler and 1 x AX-IL seasonal blend but shopify is not allowing me to add two codes? Any help here?
