I've been fortunate enough to get a $200 David Jones gift voucher recently. Being a bargain hunter, I have no idea what to use it on at DJs… Everything is really expensive there. Each item i've been interested in, I've googled it first, and everywhere else is selling the exact same item 40% cheaper.
Are there any good value buys to be had at DJs? What do you buy at DJs?

I've experienced the exact same thing.
I waiting until I heard there was a sale and bought clothing that was in a clearance bin. Clearance price + Sale Price made it equivalent of online price. Used my gift voucher then.

DJ's is having a sale now. I think I saw an extra 30% off sale prices.
Just don't shop online. They are horrible with stock, shipping, returns, customer service etc.
David Jones have price matched for me in the past. I assume they still do.

And maybe monitor their listings via Price Hipster to find deals. Can choose your category too. Looks like some good deals under home and garden.

Can always sell the gift card as well at a discount.
Wait til they have the 50%+ off or similar sales, then the stuff is about the same price as elsewhere. Can sometimes even get a decent price on cookware.

dj's have a price match policy in-store. don't bother online.
Lego when it's on sale. Alternatively just sell the voucher off - think they go for 10-15% off face value?
