Smart Universal Infrared Remote IR Controller / Hub for TV/Aircon with Google Assistant - Multiple Actions from One Device?

hi Guys (and Girls),

found interesting and cheap gadget:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000340292227.html

I just want to know if with this kind of gadget i will be able to set few actions for one device and activate them all with just one google voice command?
for example when i say "hey google, go to movie mode" then it will make my tv go to its menu, go down two times go to the right one time, press ok (select) on the media server menu, then increase volume 1 step, change brightness, etc.

or this device can only do one action for each devices? (ie turn on tv, turn on a/c, turn off light)?

i heard i can achieve what i want with Logitech harmony hub (but it cost much more than this)?

thank you.

  • This Blitzwolf branded Remote IR Controller is a relative newcomer to this market. Have a look at Broadlink devices used for the same purpose and you will be able find heaps of information and support forums as they have been around for ages and has a much larger user base and I'd assume the Broadlink App to be more stable and functional. These essentially are LAN connected IR transmitters so all devices to be controlled have to be in the same room with unobstructed line of sight.

The $20 Bunnings one does this. It’s the arlec connect brand. I programmed mine to turn on the hisense tv and navigate to the Plex app since the tv is super slow

    • yes thats it. same like mine. i have lg tv and has plex client built in.

i want to tell google to play plex but it will be involving few clicks and navigating few direction not just one button so not sure which hub i need to buy.
someone recommend Logitech harmony hub $300 which i hesitated.

      ok will check Bunning! thanks

I have a couple of harmony hubs and while they are much more streamlined (eg: the hub knows what channel you're on and what the TV is doing) this box was way easier to set up. I just talk into my apple watch to run the TV and a minute later plex is up and ready
