  • Nice, but what I see missing on two of those box photos is "HomeKit", they've the Alexa and Google logos, but nothing from Apple…

Because homekit is pretty much dead, apple is too slow in the game. They're better getting rid of Siri altogether too

  • No doubt be yonks before we see stuff here in AU, if at all for eg bloom lamp

  • Nice article, thank goodness that they are finally upping the lumens to 1600

Quite a big jump from 800 of previous generations which always made me think they were making it weaker to encourage people to buy more at $60 a pop even though it ~may~ have been a temperature issue.

Wonder how long it will take for that generation to trickle down to australia…

You're not wrong. My Hue bulbs look a bit dim compared to my old LIFX bulbs. But i go for low lighting anyway, i try to recreate gas lighting, dim yellow light. It's also fun to secretly mess the wife by dimming them slightly when I'm at work through the app, haha.

  • Great info, thanks!

  • Ah I was worried about the low level of stock and the number of sales. Thanks for the info!

  • ive got a couple of the Genio Downlights which plug into an outlet in the ceiling above the kitchen breakfast bench-top
Id like to do that with all my standard light fixtures and use the Philips Hue Down-lights, they want way too much money for them though..

at least my 4 Hue colour bulbs were bought at $10 each, thanks to Target for overriding the $20 price for the colour bayonet bulbs to $10,
although the colour screw-in was $10 and the bayonets were at $20, nice they only printed out the $10 ticket…
and the 2 Hue white ambiance were bought at about $12 each a while ago, so thanks JB for the white ambiance Amazon price match.

definitely need more lumens, at least that way we have the choice of how bright we may need an area.
