TobyDeals AU - Still Waiting and No Customer Service

Hi guys,

recently… well actually almost a month ago now (the 20/05/2020), we ordered two new mobile phones from https://www.tobydealsau.com/ at the time there was no indication that they were out of stock on their website and we have spent close to $800AUD there.

After five emails and a threat to cancel the order, we had one email saying they are sourcing new stock and asked us to wait. that was on the 5th of June. since then, no movement on the order status and no further contact even after trying to chase them down for an update.

I'm not averse to waiting, but their utter lack in customer service is appaling. not sure if I should just cancel and try to get my money back or wait longer.

Any other people have similar experiences?

  • Pretty common complaint about TobyDeals. In every one of their deals there are a handful of comments mentioning this. I'm in a similar position (Moto G8 Plus), though not a full month of waiting yet. I was happy to take the chance for the lower price as I'm not in a rush

  • I guess that's how they operate.

    My order for a Galaxy A30s was made 08/06, Tracking number was made available 3 days later, received the item shipped from HK one week later on the 16/06. This order took 8 days to complete

    Order for an A20 was made 8/19/2019, Tracking number was made available 26 days later, item sent on 03/09/2019 and received in Australia on 06/09/2019. So this order took nearly a month to complete.

    So yes, they'll tend keep you waiting without any messages and no tracking number for a long time if they have no stock.

    • yeah contacted them and surprise surprise, no response.

      just deciding if I should cancel the order and put in a claim through PayPal.

  • Depends how urgent is needed, and if you are OK with the cost difference elsewhere.

    I'm not entirely sure but Imagine if their Warranty dept was the same slowness …

    Cheap $ but bad CS, or more $ and other place..?

    • I am fine with a long wait. Sadly its is the utter lack of any customer service that prompts me to consider cancelling the order. they must rely heavily on one time only customers to stay afloat I would imagine.

  • just an update, we finally have the goods dispatched (still not here yet but at least its sent) so it took literally a month to get my order sorted out. let's hope the quality of the goods is far better than the customer service.
