  • I haven't checked reviews, but do you know if there's a big difference between S8 and Q8?

    • +1

BIG DIFFERENCES. Check the specs and read the articles. Plenty of information out there. Basically S is budget Q is their premium.

    • +3

Yeah, a fair difference. The main ones being full local array dimming and quantum dot. Better colours, better blacks, more uniformed picture. There's a LOOOOONG Whirlpool thread on them, but the general consensus is the Q8 is about 90-95% of a Samsung Q80T that is usually around $500 more. Without a system that pushes ads on you.

      • Have you actually seen the 2 together on fta? Or with the same content?

Suggest you do and your opinion WILL differ. Comparing the Samsung to the 65q8 is like comparing a mid range Merc to a Daihatsu.

    • the difference is huge, i cant be bothered to list all, but the q8 ATM can go toe to toe with the best of them

  • This or Samsung Q60T?

    • I recently got the Q60T from Samsung education portal for ~$2.45k, well worth it for that price.

      • Delivered?

        • Yes delivered

    • The Hisense picture, blacks and colours are a lot better, as I'd dark room performance, gaming lag and also HDR.

The Q60 doesn't have full array local dimminh.

That said it's still a great TV. Equal price Hisense. At $2.5k as mentioned above, that's a great price and is def best at that range.

  • Check the site for the latest catalogue, because as at tomorrow (18th) they have more brands of TVs discounted… however for at least the Sony 55" H series they are saying the discounted price is actually the Sony RRP so just be cautious.
