Minimum Specs for Max Performance

Hi all,

What's the minimum specs required to run the latest games at max settings?

Looking to try and get a wholele set up (kb, Mouse, Monitor, PC and Windows) for $2k or under if at all possible.

This: https://techfast.com.au/products/amd-ryzen-7-3700x-gaming-wo…

Leaves $400 for Monitor, KB, Mouse, Windows.

Thanks.

  • It's all down to the graphics card. If you chose that option without ticking the graphics card upgrade options (and those options honestly looks a little overpriced from here) you will end up with a RX550, which is a 2017-era GPU that was intended for home theatre use.

  • I rekcon it's a bit overpriced to be honest. Plus the fact that if you're purely doing it for gaming you don't need a 3700X and can squeeze in a cheaper cpu to maximise GPU as scrimshaw pointed out. I put this together awhile back which is good for 1080p gaming albeit its a mini itx build but its a good starting point I think: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/bensow/saved/qK84dC

  • Get a gtx 1660, solves 90% of your gfx problems

  • If you've got $2k to spend, I'd definitely recommend buying a quality monitor (34" ultrawides are awesome!). The recent Kogan for $650 is a great starting point, but they also had one for $450 too.

Depends on monitor resolution and refresh rate. FHD 60Hz? GTX 1660 will do. 8K 120Hz? Nah.

    • Don't have a monitor selected as yet.

      • Pick or buy your monitor first and then base the rest of your specifications around that.

    • Correct me if i'm wrong but this is in USD?
