Free PDF to Powerpoint converter

Can anyone please recommend where I can find a free PDF to Powerpoint converter?

Tried googling this question but only came up with rubbish.

Would prefer an Ozbargainer's recommendation from someone actually using it.

Thanks, Steve

This site specializes in recommending freeware.
There is pdf to word/excel but not powerpoint.
May be you can find something useful there.

Depends on what you're trying to do with the PDF and what's in it. My suggestion would be to use a program like Inkscape (free/open source) to open the PDF and you can export the contents of the PDF into another format Powerpoint can read. Almost certain Inkscape can export Windows Metafile which Powerpoint will work well with. Otherwise, you can probably just copy/paste content across.

  • If you just want to put the slides into powerpoint, you would export the pages of a PDF to images (like JPGs) and then insert those images into the powerpoint presentation.

  • Again, it depends on what you are trying to achieve, Microsoft have an article on how to embed PDF into Powerpoint here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291878

  • Thanks guys for your replies and advice.

I am casual lecturing at Uni and want to copy graphs, charts etc from PDF's into Powerpoint for my lectures.

I have taken cashcow's advice and it is working a treat.

    Thanks again to all.

    cheers, Steve
