Best Setup of Music system in the Ford BA 2005 .

Hi guys i been searching for best set-up for music for my ford 2005 BA .I have now a 600w pioneer 4 channel amp and 800w pioneer sub and 300w pioneer 6*9 connected to stock 6 stacker head unit with the help of stinger line out converter. The sound at this stage is very crap and i have spoke to jb Hi-Fi and the tack told me to replace the factory head unit with any good 3 rca after market head unit to have a better sound from the same set-up . I have gone through so many reviews on ford forums and find some mix out some says change it some wont . Finally i have decided to upgrade it now .but from JB Hi-Fi every thing is double price .so i have planned to buy stuff on line .i have checked some on line stores for Australia which sell car audio are cheaper then JB Hi-Fi .And American store Amazon have all the amps and subs on there website very cheap but they cant ship that to Australia .

Please give me some links to on line audio store and tell me if possible any better set-up any one have out there for their cars under $800 dollars . the cheapest store i think which i was able to find in Australia is Elite audio they have their own website and ebay store is well .their link is

  • Have you had a professional listen to the current setup? It might be that it's just not EQ'd correctly.

I used to have a 2004 BA with stock system including speakers, etc and the sound was pretty good for a factory system.

  • Check http://www.ryda.com.au/ and http://www.soundmaster.com.au/, they're both usually pretty cheap.

As for the SQ, I would probably agree with changing the head unit to something with proper RCA line outs. If you want to find out if your head unit is at fault before splurging though, get a bunch of 2 RCA to 3.5mm stereo cables and 3.5mm splitters, and use them to plug a good MP3 player directly into your amp (I used a Sandisk Sansa Clip).

Sound better? It's your HU. Sound the same or worse? Might be the amp, but usually the speakers. Who installed this stuff for you by the way?

Wouldn't it be a hell of a lot easier to just change the whole car to one with the factory "premium sound" system?

  • Sounds like you have some sort of major problem with your current system. at work I used to modify the factory head units so that they had rca out taking the line level off the preamp's in the head unit. so you could install aftermarket amps with the best possible signal. and you know what I could not hear the difference before and after (as long as they were using a quality line level converter).

if it was my car i would be trying to fix the problem or more likely problems with your system before throwing more money at it. what front speakers do you have? and were did they mount the 6x9's ? are your speakers all in phase ? do both your amps have high level inputs so you can ditch the stinger line level converter ?
