Kogan Premium Smart Wash & Dry Remote Control Electric Bidet Toilet Seat $369 + Delivery @ Kogan

50

Been waiting for this to drop. Before COVID-19 it was $299 and then Kogan did a huge mark up during isolation to $872!!

It's never been the "Was $499" price (I've been watching the price like a hawk from my cold toilet seat for 4 months)

But anyway prefer this one to the popular Xiaomi Whale Spout as this can be controlled via a remote and not a phone.

For what purpose do you wanna "remote control" your toilet seat?

    • Maybe the seat is dirty so you don't have to touch it. Alternatively you could be in rush and need the seat to be ready for you. Haha :):)

    • To turn on the heated seat in the morning while you're still in bed.

  • Hmm, I wonder how it compares to the new Smartmi toilet seat bidet

Kogan did a huge mark up during isolation to $872.

exactly why I don't trust Kogan and don't want to buy anything from them. Different story with their stocks though. ;)

    • Wouldn't mind an $872 mark up on their stocks :)

  • Yeah bunnings one is sub $400 isn't it

Yeah, $399 with 3 years warranty vs 1 yr for this one, Bunnings warranty service is top notch.

The one from Bunnings looks better, got two of those and the best thing.

I've got the bunnings one. It's average at best.
It feels cheap, flimsy and plasticy and it's very noisy. It's also made my plumbing make a loud screeching sound when refilling the cistern.
It does the job but it's absolutely nowhere near the level of the Japanese ones.
      I couldn't recommend it.

      • which brand do you recommend?

        • D'lucci.

      • Interesting, though not the same quality as the Japanese ones, but given the Japanese ones are at least three times the price, I find the D'lucci to be very good.

I don't have issue with the noise, probably something with your set-up?
I got two and installed them myself, they both run without and issues.

      • Your are comparing it to $2000 Toto seat, otherwise it on par with Chinese seats posted here recently.

Thumbnail looks like an RGB toilet seat

  • Does it send butt data to CCP ? :/

Just to get things straight, OP is aware that "normal" price is $299, but is posting this "deal" at $369?

    • +1

That was the price before isolation started. It's been a while since it has been at that price so.

Even so there are plenty of deals on OzBargain that aren't "the cheapest ever" (Nintendo Switch, SSDs, computers etc) but I'm posting in case anybody else is interested. Cheers

  • Can this be installed if the water entry is inside the cistern?

    • Not for back inlet toilet suite. You would need to drill through them if you really want it.

  • I bought this one:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07XC3VJMK/ref=ppx_yo_d…

Its pretty good. I wouldnt say its life changing but some others of the family have said so.

  • Can anyone confirm if these are legal please? I have spoken to a few plumbers and have had mix responses.

    • Legal for you to yourself or legal for a plumber to install?

      • Legal for plumber to install.

I don't think the Amazon one is, the Evakare possibly, from other websites it seems to have WaterMark AS/NZS 3718 certification.

It's also not an easy decision for plumbers whether they need to install backflow valves, and I guess if they're not sure then they would take the safer approach and assume it's non-compliant.

Here is the advice for VIC, you can see that it's not exactly clear. Consult requirements for your state.
          https://www.vba.vic.gov.au/news/news/2020/vba-issues-health-…

My take (and I'm not a plumber) is that the item needs to come with a complaint high-hazard backflow-prevention device i.e. WaterMark certification.
