Thoughts on Wilsons Prom in Winter

Hello,

Seeing that travel is restricted within the state, what are your thoughts on Wilsons Prom, VIC in the winter? We're a family of 2 with 2 young children.

    Cold. Very very cold.

    • Came here to say the same thing… cold…

    • I went to Wilsons Prom in Winter 3-4 years ago. I thought my ears were gonna fall off. This year's Winter is supposedly worse.

I dunno, it's pretty damn mild in Melbourne so far. When does it get worse?

  • Great place to visit in the Summer, bloody freezing in the Winter.

    • Last time we were there during Christmas it was 18 max but the beach was too hard to resist for the kids

  • Don't do it….very very cold.

  • Alright. So that’s off, where to then, in the next few weeks, maybe with a hired caravan?

    • Stay in the caravan and park it outside your house. Petrol saving 100%.

  • What about a trip to Swan Hill or Mildura. Average temperature in June -July is around 18 degrees.

  • Geez, all these people saying it would be cold. Of course it would be, it is winter and Wilson Prom is the most southerly point of mainland Australia.
But that doesn't make it not worth a visit. I think that the scenery is probably better in the colder months, and if you dress appropriately and choose activities that suit the weather, you will be fine.
