Do you guys use 16:9 or 16:10 (or what else) Monitors?

Just wondering what aspect ratio your monitors uses?
Why did you chooses this?
I personally used 16:10 but then swapped to 16:9. Worse for gaming in my opinion.

  • I'd think most people on would be 16:9 (1920 x 1080p) or you know rich OzBs would have one aspect ratio of each because they are so cheap and needed to figure it out once and for all to settle the score.

  • 2560 × 1600 (WQXGA) - chosen because that's the size the Dell Ultrasharp 30" came in.

Love the 16:10 aspect ratio, increased vertical height for reading documents but rare to find these days unless its on the Macbook Pro or new Razer laptops

  • 21:9 great for Visual Studio as you can work on both the UI and Model at the same time on the same monitor. Also great for Adobe products as it allows you to have more tools opened without compromising your work pane.

  • 32:9 - great for productivity and using Microsoft FancyZones to allow me to customise whether I have it split into equal thirds, one 1920x1080 in the middle and a 960x1080 zone on the left and right, and also sometimes just one giant 3860x1080 for very wide spreadsheets or Alteryx workflows.

21:9, once you go ultrawide, you'll never go back

3840x1600 21:9 here - I was skeptical at first and thought nah it couldn't be that good.

I was wrong and I will never touch 16:9 again.

      • did you ever use 3440x1440? If so was it a massive step up?

  • 16:9 on my big TV at home (so I voted for this), and 3:2 on my Surface laptop, and very happy with both aspect ratios for the different purposes.

  • 16:10 Dell P1913SB, got for $25 as it was the cheapest monitor I could easily find at that time.

  • I've got a 16:9 setup at home, but one of each (16:9 and 16:10) in the office. 16:10 is great!

  • 16:10 here. 16:9 feels it's too squished.

  • 21:9 and a 16:9 on either side.

    21:9 1440p 144hz

Ultrawide is amazing and really opens your eyes as to how much you're not seeing on screen vs 16:9.

Wish i had the desk space for 32:9.

    • I am debating if I want to wall mount my monitor so I can have my desk space back lol. The monitor itself isn't that bad since you could in theory push it back, but the stand to keep it stable however stretches out and means once you put the keyboard on the desk, you have very little space left for say, documents or an iPad.

  • Main monitor is 16:9 1440p 144Hz because gaming, but wish I could get an affordable, 27" or larger 16:10 screen for work.

  • Right not 1,440p on a 28" crappy Acer.

I think this is a more a philsophcal religious argument… some of us would like 16:10 but really whats the diff at the end of the day?

    16:10 I think it dead. We're all moving to 2k 4k etc.
