Over past few months of COVID stay-at-home, for the calendar months of March, April and May, Vaya was messaging customers each month to deliver unlimted data for the rest of the month. Clever - given that so many people were on their wifi at home and thus wayyyy under-using the data that Vaya had already purchased for them from Optus…
Then at beginning of June, as people started to venture out more and thus use more data, Vaya advised some customers (apparently long term ones) that although there were no further months of unlimited data, rather on an on-going basis the monthly data amount for their plans had been upgraded - effective from month of June.
So, for me with $16 sim-only-plan, this meant a bump from 4GB/month to 8GB/month. Notice was delivered to me by SMS and email. Also switching excess data charge from per/GB to per/MB.
I've been with Vaya since 2012. A friend on the same $16 plan for less years has so far not been upgraded!
Good to name & fame. Aside from them and Kogan, wonder if there are any other companies that do this as opposed to the 'cater to the new customers' crowd. Ozbargain, name & fame any companies, not restricted to telecom.
