KINGSTON 2GB (2 x 1GB) 667MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 RAM for $85.95

30

This deal was submitted before a few weeks back, but at a higher price. I was shopping for some new ram, and came across deal which is now $85.95. Pretty cheap. The cheapest i've found for 2GB Kingston DDR2 667MHz is $89.95, but the average is around $100~. So if you are looking for some DDR2 memory upgrade, this is it! :)

  • Nice price but you gotta look at the shipping! $14.99 to major cities means that computer stores are usually cheaper if they're not too far from where you live or work. Plus if there's a problem at least the computer store is nearby to get it replaced (which can be the case with RAM).

    • I agree that shipping cost is always going to be an issue for online shopping in Australia, although it is almost unheard of in tiny places like Hong Kong, Singapore or Taiwan.

However I think sometimes it is also a premium that someone is willing to pay to avoid moving his butt off his chair, I myself included :)

    • Yeah I noticed. Though as scotty mentioned, most online orders these days do have some sort shipping charge one way or another. Though if you add shipping in, it still adds up to be quite reasonable. If it is available in your local shops, then it probably will work out similar (could be cheaper!), but it involves you getting into your car, drive to the shop and the possibility of getting caught in a long queue at some shops (Eg. MSY).

  • Well 2 x 1 gig Kingston delivered for $101 is a good deal
    - if you picked these up in person at MSY it would be $96 IF THEY HAD STOCK.

Also it would cost me well over $5 in petrol to get there and back.

Also these ones come in a retail pack - the MSY ones wouldnt

RAM is so cheap these days - this must be close to the cost of production
    - global oversupply of DDR2 means the consumer benefits, at least in the short term.
