  • This setup is ideal for single phase homeowners who have bills above $500 per quarter and have a pool or electric hot water system or massive ducted air con that can be offset by the additional 5kw capacity.

    • +2

Wouldn't a "massive ducted air con" pretty much be 3 phase by design? Else it wouldn't be very massive.

      • Yes. Correct

      • +2

:) not everyone have three phase with ducted air con!!

    • Why is it ideal for these homeowners?

      • If under $500 electricity bill per quarter, you can still go for 13.2kw system and be in credit!!

        • Still doesn't answer my question. Based on your information, I tick most of the boxes as an "ideal" homeowner. If I was to proceed are you suggesting I would pay this investment off in 12 quarters (assuming $500 bill per quarter = $6,000 after 12 quarters)?

      • Yeah 13kw panel and 10kw invertor should cover bills of over 1k per 1/4 not 500

  • Does energex limit export to the grid nowadays?

    • For singe phase capped at 5kw. For three phase capped at 15kw. Per phase 5kw is the limit.

  • have you ever heard of apartment units installing grid-tied wind/solar?

  • “Price not inclusive of export control device.”

Is it possible to install this system without an export control device? If not the advertised price should include the export control device or at the very least the price should be in the description.

Good price, but seems like a fairly niche use case as it only really makes sense if you only have single phase power and also have significant usage in the middle of the day.
