Best Deal on Thermomix (Free Extras)

I see the Thermomix as an overpriced gimmick but the wife wants one (TM6) so I am trying to maximise the bang for my buck and was just wondering if anyone has received any free extras with their purchase I should be looking out for?

I know I could look for a second hand one which would possibly come with extras but my wife will only have new.

Feel free to add your thoughts on any "must have" extras I should fork out the money for too eg. extra bowl for $350!

Geez, have you thought about getting a new wife? Even with the associated financial costs it may be cheaper.

All joking aside, have you/she considered the Tefal version? Seems to be around $1000.

  • From what I've heard you'll only really get deals on older models and second hand ones.

I'm talking about thermomixes by the way.

Out of curiosity, where did your wife find out about Thermomix?

    • My mum has had one for years and raves about it. I have been able to hold back the flood waters so far but now friends have one too so the dam buster have been called in.

      • My condolences, the mother and the wife is a tough combination!

  • The specials are set by Thermomix themselves… Agents may include extras which comes out of their own pocket.

    Definitely need 2 bowls.

A quick search will show Thermo must-haves…

  • They're great units. Join some of the Facebook groups, you can get a demo etc to see if you'll really use it and this is worth the cash. I recently bought a second-hand tm31, it has actual knobs to turn for speed etc vs pressing buttons multiple times, works a treat. Cost $400 too.

In the end though there are rarely specials. It's like an apple device, expensive but they do work pretty well versus the cheaper copies. Customer service is similarly outstanding

  • We've had our's for 10 years never missed a beat, gets used multiple times a day.

  • Turns out there is free knife set for June or a Free oval serving bowl for July so that's something I suppose.

  • OP, have you purchased your Thermomix? My friends and I are looking for a group of 5 people to buy Thermomix, trying to land on the "refer 4 get your machine for free" deal.

We now have 3 of us, and 2 spots left. Do let me know if you haven't got your machine :)

    • Just caught this now. I'm looking for a TM6 as well. If you're still looking for people, I'm in.

  • sounds like a great plan but my wife already bought hers. We got a free large "thermoserver" with cook books in the end and the rep gave us free bottle brush and scrubber.

So far I have used the Thermomix to make a really good "American pancake" batter, pizza dough and eggnog…so it is a good machine but still not convinced it is worth the price tag.
