Three Knife Set - High Quality

Hey Guys,

I'm looking at suggestions for a high quality 3 knife set, i.e Chefs, pairing knives.

I'm looking for something that will last, I've seen the Baccarat ones but reviews are pretty shitty.

Cheers,

Harry

If you're even considering Baccarat, you've not been exposed to good knives.

A nice "proper" knives to start with is the Global set. It was available for ~$90 this morning.

You'll do well to pick up a minosharp sharpening kit when it is discounted.

It's a stainless steel knife so it doesn't stay super sharp not stay sharp long but they're easy to sharpen and they don't rust quickly.

Global definitely entry level.. lightweight and good for occasional use .. Furi are the budget version of these.

Suprised Victorinox fibrox doesn't get much mention, comfortable knife and quite good value for money - or the swibo variant better pricing similar qaulity.

  • Global, Furi, Wusthof usually have great sales… and lifelong guarantees.

Prices and quality vary from the German 'Nesmuk Jahrhundert Messer', and the Thai 'Kiwi' knives.

For loingevity and quality , personally I would look at the following European knives
    Victorinox/Swibo
    Wusthof
    Zwilling/Henckels
    Dexam

    For Japanese knives
    Global
    Shun
    Mac

Don't buy without trying. Every knife has a different comfort, weight and balance to each user.
