  • that's fast…

  • what is this?

    • Put m.2 SSD inside the box, plug box into USB C port, and away you go. Megafast transfer speeds.

      • so we can use an internal m.2 ssd externally, without not having to install in the laptop?

To be specific, this is not only a usb-c port, also supports tb3 port. That means it can support the transfer rate goes up to 40Gbps, compare with usb-c max at 10Gbps.

I just read the description, it mentioned it does NOT support usb c port. A bit strange that didn’t support downspeed the pipeline. That’s what it said though and not worth to risk it. For usb c port ssd enclosure with same brand. This is the link.

  • Any chance for a discount on USB-C hub with HDMI output OP ?

  • How much for an enclosure? $12? Or $121.
    I'll take it for $12.

    • Damn enclosure cost as much as the ssd it's suppose to hold. Surely it don't cost that much to manufacture them enclosure compared to the ssd.

      • When I was looking for it in the past, the main problem is the heat in such a tiny enclosure. I've given up since then… TB3 NVME won't be viable at a cheap price point for awhile.

        In this listing:

        • Enhanced heat dissipation design. SSD thermal pad+heat sink+main chip heat sink+Aluminum case cool down internal NVMe M.2 SSD effectively

In one of the enclosures I found, I recall there being thermal paste included in the package…

      TB3 peripherals are expensive.

  • What chipset in the wifi adapter?

  • Meh, seems a pricey NVME external enclosure.
If I had a top shelf NVME drive, I would upgrade the one inside my computer and the cheap OEM drive probably would be fine with a normal priced enclosure.

    • It's a great way to upgrade a fusion drive based iMac, use this as the boot drive and it works a treat, and no need to go through the pain of opening up the iMac.

  • Sadly cannot get my TB3 enabled Mac to boot from this drive. I can also confirm it is indeed compatible with USB 3.

    • Is it just because of this enclosure or because of your very Mac being unable to boot from TB3 device?

  • picked one up, not a bad price. also not many TB3 enclosures around.
