damn thats not a bad price for 128gig …

    • If you're near Perth, sure. Otherwise a major hassle.

Not a bargain, regular price, search eBay.

I have several of these (both 32GB and 64GB) and they are very, very slow on write speeds. If you plan to write once and read many times then it won't be a problem otherwise I recommend you spend $10 more and get either a Samsung Fit 128GB USB 3.1 (currently $40.68 on Amazon) or a Lexar 128GB Jump Drive S47 USB 3.1 ($39.99) You will be much, much happier with either of these.

Agree, extremely slow writing speed, useful for bootable usb

      • just bought one 64GB, Packaging showing it supports USB 3.1 (GEN1)/3.0.
        would that make any difference?

Sorry, but the USB interface is not the limiting factor, it's the speed of the memory. In other words, it won't make any difference.

    • How would you rate all these in terms of reliability? I need some drives for backup of personal photos and documents.
I do have backup on google drive but want (a couple of) offline backups as well.

I'm pretty certain they are as reliable as any USB thumbdrive, but would I use a thumbdrive for critical backups? No. My standard practice for backing up critical stuff is to have three copies of it on at least two different media (I stole the idea from the U.S. Library of Congress). So I have my local copy on my computer, a non-synced cloud copy and a copy burned to blu-ray and stored at another site. Paranoid? Maybe.

I've had no problems with them, had a couple go through a full cycle in the washing machine by mistake and still working fine.
