Which Cordless Vacuum Is Better Xiaomi or Dyson?

Guys,

Looking for a $300-$400 mark cordless vacuum. Have seen this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/542005 for Xiaomi V10 and it looks impressive. However, a Dyson one is $400 https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-v7-cord-free

Not able to decide should I go for Dyson or Xiaomi. Anyone have any experience with either and can advise on the longevity of Xiaomi?

I have Dyson V7 already and used it for > 2 years and now it is dying.
EDIT: By dying I mean not the battery. It is just that at 'max' setting it turns off every 1 second, so if I keep pressing, it goes on and off like someone is playing with the power switch of a light bulb. Also, debris pickup performance has decreased.

Also is V10 the latest from Xiaomi or is there a V11 too?

Thank you

What do you mean by dying? A new genuine battery is < $100 and should keep you going for another year or two

      Battery is OK

        Have you cleaned it?

Take the small filter out of the middle of the cyclone cluster and wash it upside down under a tap then let it fully dry. That should fix it

        • Just did mine today…so much dust and dirt, a bit of hair and even some styrofoam balls!

  • Won't ever catch me buying Dyson again, bought two v7's, both have died within a year. I'm contemplating getting Samsungs new VS70, bit more expensive, on sale atm at good guys for 599 but looks pretty good.

Yeah, get a $45 battery and your Dyson will keep going for another 3 years.

Have you considered replacing the battery on your V7?

  • I got new Dyson battery last month and good as new. Seemingly the battery has a built in die point of two years which is very annoying.

  • Replaced my Dyson battery with a generic from Amazon 4000+ mah better than new

  • If I go with Xiaomi, is there much difference between Xiaomi V9 and V10? There is a price difference of course.

  • seriously? still asking? lots in youtube.

My dyson does this every now and again, you need to clean the filter (pull it from the motor part) I wash it and then need to completely dry it, as well as any hair etc on the rotating brush, or any debris near the waste bin. Once you do this, it doesn't stop all of the time. Just a hint in case it isn't actually dying.

  • I've just bought a Dyson V11 Absolute a coupe of weeks ago. Needless to say, it was very expensive, but I thought it was worth it since Dyson is very popular and parts are available everywhere.

After unboxing, I reckoned the battery was dead on arrival. Then I called to Dyson to support, they quickly shipped a new battery to me in a few days. Replacing the battery, well, was very frustrating to me. Screws were extremely tight and very easily to strip. I had a stripped screw that I had to drill and break the old (dead) battery plastic to take it out.

Not a best experience for a Dyson first time buyer.

  • How about a robot vacuum? I know that's not your question, but if your house layout would accommodate it's worth a thought

    • xiaomi mi. 5 yrs and still going strong. set on auto every morning. my hiuse is always clean.

Sounds like your Dyson is trying to clean its filter. This pulsing is normal when the filter is clogged and you can help it out by taking the filter out and cleaning it manually.
